Christmas to me is just a holiday, a time to be with the family, to share presents to hang decorations up, it was more exciting as a child but as an adult it's just not the same anymore, I guess it was religious I probably would enjoy it more but the only thing I look forward to is a White Christmas but sadly we never get those now in the UK. It just doesn't hold the same excitement for me any more.

We seldom have a white Christmas either but I too do keep hope for them. I did love it when it happened, and it was so beautiful. I did take alot of pictures and even have some with snow on my head...lol

That one sentence says it all, and thank you my friend for saying it.

I honor Christmas as the day of Jesus birth (although there is some dispute about the actual calendar date, that is beside the point). As a child I was a greedy little snit about Christmas but the older I get, the more the commercial exploitation and consumerism bother me.

I have to agree with you, as I have gotten older, I have seen it more and more comercialised and I just wonder how many people feel the true reason for the season!

I celebrate Christmas because I celebrate the life of Jesus Christ my savior. I also teach this to my children. Every Christmas I ask them if they knwo what we are celebrating, why we are celebrating and tell themthe story of Jesus's birth.

I totaly agree. It is our familys belief as well. I always made sure that they knew that this is about the birth of our Lord. I also feel that we should not just give gifts to each other but do things that glorify Christ and his birthday!

Yes, I do, even though I know Jesus was not born on 12/25/0000. He was more likely born in September, when the animals were still grazing in the fields. I also now celebrate Christmas because of my twins, who, right not, have no clue why the receive gifts on Christmas.

I am a Christian and I celebrate the fact that God came to earth to live among us to the Glory of His Father in Heaven. I also enjoy the family aspects of the day. We do all the traditional things and sometimes I worry that we will forget the true meaning of it all. But by the same token, I know that God made us to enjoy life and all the excitement that a holiday can bring.

I feel the same way. Its a glorious day dedicated to the celebration of the birth of Christ. I am curious if people that do celebrate are all believers or not?
