I do agree with you. I use it all the time, even for the little things that one does no matter how close the person is to you. I thank my husband everytime, to me, it's just to show that I appreciate the thing he had done. And I do that to every one as well, no matter how small the thing they did was. I just think it's polite and that it shows appreciation to the other person's action. :)

Do you think it's just a social habit or does the act of saying it just for a moment bring you totally into the present? Think about this next time and see if you can imagine that by doing this one act thoughtfully, you can change one person's live and maybe it could snowball into changing the world. How much wonderful power that little word has. Blessings

Hi Savypat, I say it as a matter of course throughout my daily life so I couldn't say for sure how much I say it. Manners cost nothing and I was bought up with them and I likewise have done with my own children. It is very under used by most people though I agree. Huggles. Ellie :D

I would also like to add that I also give thanks daily to God for protecting my family and friends and for the food that we eat etc. I feel that is also important. One of the first words my son learnt to say was tank you LOL he couldn't pronounce thank you bless. Huggles. Ellie :D

It's just two little words, I don't think you can use them too much. But you're right, it's the intent behind the words that is important. I have also use these in a sarcastic way, but now that I have relized just how powerful these words can be i am much more careful. Thanks for your response

I say thank you to people who have done good to me and I say it as much as I could. I really don't know how often but it depends to the circumstance that happened as well. It is something that we could give back to someone who has helped us in one way or another, be it big or small, in cash or in kind, material or not. Also, I believe that we should say thank you to God every time we wake up and before we sleep.

You are doing a great job, why not say thanks even if the person hasn't helped. if you say it well maybe, just maybe you might bring a smile or better yet you change that persons life just a little bit. And then you might change the world. Think big.
Thank for the response

I feel that I say this word very often..That too since I have a preschooler boy at my home, I'm on the way of teaching him good manners. So my spouse and myself are very particular in saying the words "Thank you", "please" and "sorry"..So it becomes countless in a day..
