AJAX cross browser

I have seen some AJAX code to load a web page, but the problem is that this code should have a little difference dependen on which browser is going to run. that is because of the XMLHttpRequest object that is different for Internet Explorer and for Mozilla firefox. Someone has a unique script to available the AJAX to work on different browser including Safari browser ??? thanks frankouz
