Have you turned on the heat yet?

I usually try to keep the heat off until november, but thanks to a string of unseasonably cold days, I've given up hope for an affordable heating bill. The thermostat is set to 63, and I've already switched over to wool sweaters and thicker socks. What are some of your favorite tricks for keeping your heating costs down?

Yea, I have the heating on almost a month now, because of the cold and rainy weather. And we don't use any tricks for keeping our heating costs down. Because we like it warm. It's so good when it's warm inside when it's cold outside.

Heck yeah, I've turned up the heat...it is damn cold. I don't know how I'll survive the weather. I think that your strategy of saving heating cost is sound, although I think that 63 is pretty low. You can also weatherize your house some and let the sunlight in where possible.

nope, we have just just started turning off the a/c at night here. the evenings have finally reached a pleasant 65F or so. days are still pushing mid 90's. we probably wont turn on the heater until about mid november. as for trying to keep costs down, i make everybody wear socks and sweatpants lol!
