i am just wondering, it is okay to wear, sleeveless, jeans and slippers to get a job exam? am i too old school thinking to wear something formal and appropriate if you are applying for a job? i have nothing against people wearing smart casual clothes, that would be jeans, a blouse or a formal shirt and a heels or flats but slippers and sleeveless? i think that would be too much. am i from old school? i am just wondering. what do you think?

I agree with you, when applying for a job we should dress appropriately. It doesn't have to be so formal but as you have said it could be jeans but with a formal shirt and with pumps, can be with heels or flats. How we dress up can count on that job interview or exam, it will leave a mark on our application, good or bad, i think it is better to be good.

Well those ar epeople. WEll even if it a clerk job for me. i think i would always wear shoes and proper formal clothes and stuff like that for my exam. I wouldnt mess it up. Becasue i know i have a nice chance of loosing someting important in my life just becasue i dont dress well. Well i wouldnt mind being dressed bad or with cheap formal clothes but then i would wear an entire formal attire. That would really make things look professional and would give me an extra credit during my job interview. anyways nice discussion and happy mylotting buddy :)

my thoughts exactly friend. i mean the manner you dress will be an impression that you will leave in every company that you apply of. it is always good to leave good impressions of yourself.

I'm not going to judge other people, I'll just say that I would never wear such "casual" clothes to a job interview, or to work either, for that matter.

There is always an etiquette when we are attending job interviews. It is not appropriate to wear t-shirt, jeans and slippers while we attend a job interview. Most of the time if we wear these kind of attire, the management team will not hire us because we do not show the quality of professionalism in our own self. The appropriate attire to wear while job interview is a collared shirt made from cotton or linen. You can still wear short sleeved shirt if you are attending for a low rank job but for higher rank jobs you should come with a long shirt and a tie on your neck. If possible wear an overcoat if you are applying for the position of managerial, supervisory or above. Slippers are too much. This is not acceptable at all in all job interviews. You can always wear slippers, but I can tell you, you will never get the job unless the boss is wearing slippers too. Lol.

well, for me, i think it depend on what job exam you attend to .... if it is a professional post or it is an office job which require the formal staff, then i think they should wear formal for the job exam.... but if they are attending a job exam which like sales or some job with uniform, then jeans should be ok... i think it really depends on the job exam... but it really important to wear a correct suit for an interview because that will be one of the issue the boss look at you...
