is it on the rise because it seems like i dont know anyone (including myself) that does not have it..
or are more people getting diagnoses instead of hitting the tums bottle??
or all of our crappy eating habits getting caught up to us??
seems like when i was little it was an occasional elderly person that complained about it and took like a tums here and there and now everyone is being constantly medicated with prescriptions now

It seems to be plaguing people much more than yrs ago. But I'm sure we all eat alot more processed & fat & acid within those foods is one of the main causes of this. Really if you ever read an ingredient label you almost need to be a chemist to figure out what 3/4 of it is.

Not sure if it's on the rise, or if more people are just admitting that they have it. It could also be caused by stress. I have had some totally raging heartburn in the past months and my doctor swears it has to do with all of the stress in my life. I had pills for it, and when the pills ran out the damned heartburn came back.

I personally treat mine with tums, but then again its not as bad as it once was when i couldn't keep food down. Anyways thats not the question. I think its all the chemicals and what not that is in our food now that is causing the rise in acid reflex add in with people not thinking its something that can me treated with tums.

yeah maybe people are bypassing the tums and going straight to the hard stuff.. although it might be cheaper in some cases in doing so
