Do all of the tags you put down when starting a discussion get used?

When I sometimes start a new discussion, I sometimes find it difficult to add tags on my own. But usually when I place one tag in singular form I'll place the plural form of that tag as well. By that time, I've come up with several other tags that I think will go good with the discussion I started. However, I've noticed that some of my tags weren't included, or that other tags I didn't type.
When I first started making discussions, I didn't use them then, but then I found out how to use them by looking at other discussions that I would respond too.
What has been your experience with tags?

not very sure if they do. yet seldom i use tags for myself and seldom i search for topics here. you know that i am just making a living by responding to other discussions. today i made at lest 2 discussions and i think i put some tags in one or both of them. and i usually place the singular form and no fancy thing.

Oh I think it really depends on the content of your discussion, hubby explained this whole tagging system to me and how important it is to use a right tag, but I really don't know how to explain, when I do I will start a discussion about it so that many mylotters will know the importance of tagging.

Tagging is really important, so it putting the right question in the right category; they go hand in glove.
Tagging helps with new comers who don't quite know how to search for topics they may be interested in responding too, so if the did a search for a certain word or phrase then your tags may cause your discussion to be among the choices they may choose to response too!

yeah i have the habbit of putting tags whenevr needed...mostly when i start the discussion i feel its the imp part n do put the tags but sometimes when i just response to any discussions i really don't think the need of putting tags...
we should put the tags as it helps in searching..n also you may get more responses if u have good tags...some people write very long tags even in my discussions which i don't like...tags should be just like keywords nothing else it think!!
gud luck!!

I believe that all the tags are there. In other words, even though they may not be showing, they are all in the memory for that particular discussion. Tags are mainly used for people who wish to do a topic search. So if the word "housework" is not showing on your discussion page, someone still could use that particular tag to find your discussion through a search. Those are just my thoughts.

Oh, I didn't consider any hidden tags, that makes a lot of sense.
Like for this discussing, I noticed, "i can add a tag."
But I didn't type that as one of my tags, so I guess mylot added it to make more searchable?!
