Do you think it's rude to stare at someone eating?

I hate it too. One time my husband and I went to Steak n Shake to eat. We ate there like once a week before we had kids. Anyway, there was this guy in there, granted his elevator didn't go all the way to the top but still, he didn't take his eyes off of me the entire time I was there. Well, back in my rude days I was lippy and bold so I told him to stop staring at me. He continued. I told him louder and ruder and he continued. Finally, I just exploded at this guy and may have called him every name in the "bad book of namecalling". Then, the manager came to see what was happening. I explained that I felt extremely uncomfortable that this man would not stop staring at me, even then at that moment. He told me that the man did nothing to me but due to my behavior I was never ever to return to that restaurant for the rest of my life. They actually made us leave about a year later cause someone remembered me. Isn't that crappy. This guy, who only buys coffee and sits there for hours at atime, gets to continue making people uncomfortable. So, we just choose not to go there now that my ban is no longer in effect.

Yes, I think it can be very uncomfortable. Now if you glance or look and turn away that is different. But if you just down right keep looking and looking and not looking away yes that is rude and distrubing.

yes, I do think its rude. Its usualy rude to stare , period a people. Just like t is to be pointing. Thats what my mom taught us. I dont like to be stared at, do you?
