Last night I had to go to Albertsons to pick up a few items.
To get there I have to go through another subdivision. It has speed bumps ever so often and the speed limit is only 25 mph. So at this slow rate I get to look around.
I just happened to notice how bright it was on one of the side streets. This house was lit-up so bright you could see it from blocks away. At first I thought it was Halloween lights but to my surprise it wasn't, it was thousands of Christmas lights. Not on just the shrubs and trees but the yard was covered with white lights, the roof was covered with white lights, all around the eaves were the lights that look like icicles. Then there was a large train with lights, a bell and a whistle , lollipops, nutcrackers, a few snowmen and snowwomen, Santa Clause with all the reindeer's (on the roof)with a fake chimney. A large Christmas tree and statues of four carolers.
It was awesome how they had fixed a cardboard box up to look like a fireplace with red lights and red streamers in it for fire and there were 4 stockings hanging from the mantel. On an oval rug a white rocking chair with a big red bow on it was sitting right in front of the fireplace. A small table sitting beside the chair held a lamp (Yes it was on) a cup and saucer and a plate of cookies. On the seat
of the chair was the children's book " The Night Before Christmas". One side of the yard was fixed with straw and there was Mary, Joseph, Jesus in a cradle and a few steps from them were the animals and the 3 wise men. These were all life size figures and this display had a big spotlight that had tinfoil around it to look like a star hanging high right over the cradle. It must have taken days to set all of this up but it was a beautiful display. I know it's a little early for people to be putting out Christmas displays but some people just can't wait. Have you seen any Christmas lights on in your neighborhood yet?

Wow that is early. I thought I was pretty early doing it all Thanksgiving night. But all the work that goes into it I don't blame them really for putting them up early. Sounds like a lot of work to me. I haven't seen any yet but I'm sure they will start popping up as soon as trick-or-treat which is tomorrow night is over.

Around where I live most don't put up anything until after Thanksgiving.
I wonder if these people will add more???
Then again there was a family that put up a tree and all the trimmings in April so they could have Christmas with their young daughter who was dying from cancer.
I sure hope this isn't the case with this family.
