I don't have a link for you because I read it in our local newspaper (www.tribtown.com) but it was talking about how the eggs in China were found to be contaminated with melamine also. Is this not becoming an epidemic? When will they learn to step up the saftey measures? I know that discussion was already posted recently but I just wanted to let you know about the eggs. It is another example of their irresponsibility in the measure of public safety. How could they keep on putting the lives of their citizens and citizens all over the world in jeopardy?

Egg also contaminate with melamine? Wow this is too much. I've heard that melamine can be use to markup protein percentage in milk product, but in an egg? Are the world really deficite in cheap high protein food so this dangerous substance (melamine) is used to cover it up? Are there really no alternative? I think fish is a good protein source that still abundant and some are cheap.

Now the eggs are contaminated? Wow that is so much already. I really do not comprehend why do they have to put this substance to the eggs. I think they are just for the profits but they just failed to implement it since their modus has already been uncovered. I think china should really make some move to stop this unscrupulous people from doing their deeds.

hello psspurgeon :-) yes i heard about the eggs in china particularly in hongkong. it is quite disturbing because me, my mom and brother went to hongkong last year and ate the eggs for breakfast in the hotel we are staying. anyway, it is sad that some people can be so irresponsible. i hope all of the food and drinks and medicines in the market are safe for consumption.

I just recently watched a news and the first thing they broadcast is the melamine contaminated eggs from China. I don't know how the eggs are contaminated. I taught that milk and other product containing milk is the only product that should be avoided because of melamine. Maybe they should have precautionary measures to stop melamine scare.

what do you mean by egg containing melanine. are you saying that fried eggs or cooked or are you talking about fresh eggs. why do they add melanine in fresh eggs if that is the case. seems that we have not seen the end of this news. how many products are we going to discover containing this melamine. and how many countries are affected by this melamine scare. cause i know that chinese products are exported in many countries. here in our country the government have been so strict on checking the content of many products that is suspected to be using some ingredients from china even though they are made locally only.

I am also very sorry to hear the Melamine Scandal hits China's "King of Eggs" , but its not very serious like many friends said, evryday we eat 60 such eggs may hurt our health. Two reasons most probably account for the melamine in eggs. Feed producers may add melamint directly into chicken feed, or the feed may contain overdue milk powder with high level of melamine content, Either can lead to melamine residue in eggs. Many illegal additives, appearing as "new technology,"have brought an unprecedented crisis over quality to China's feed processing industry. Now chinese government has took a tough action to arrange institutions relevant to test for melamine content strictly. Please Believe in Chinese government, believe in Chinese people, belive in Chinese products, believe in Chinese food!

I personally have started paying more attention to toys I buy for my girls. It is really hard to have faith in something that has repeatedly given us reason to doubt them. Their standards are not up to par, they are producing products that are harmful to our families. It is hard for me to have confidence in things when they are repeating mistakes without any attempt to make it better. My kids are a priority and their safety is number one. It is a betrayel to have the chinese manufacturers not concerning themselves with public safety, they are instead choosing a more profitable route that puts people at risk. If it had only happened once or twice, yea that is understandable, but it is just ongoing without any appearance of change. Now they are willing to put their own countries babies and citizens at risk by adding this ingredient to the food they are feeding the livestock just for their own personal gain. It is disturbing to say the least. I have nothing against chinese people, it's the ones that are producing harmful things and selling them like there is nothing wrong. It is the government that is turning a blind eye. If they are making serious changes, there wouldn't continue to be new things and the same old things coming out. Every month there is a new safety issue and I for one will be putting my children first and boycotting chinese product until our government has deemed them safe. I feel very bad for the ppl that are eating the eggs and drinking the baby formula that are contaminated, ppl are supposed to be able to trust in the manufacturers and government to keep them safe from this sort of thing.Good luck with this.

The safety issue of food products in my country is really frustrating. The government has paid great attention and taken measures with the condition going worse and worse. But the effect remains to be seen.
