I am sure if she can prove that she can manage her money, she can always appeal the court's decision. She is on the road to recovery. So it is better to have some one care for her estate rather than she herself. First of all, she can concentrate on her recovery and not worry about how her bills are being settled. Second of all, the money is being handled by someone she trusts, so no worries about her money getting mishandled. I think it is a win win situation. No?

Well, only time will tell if he will misuse the funds. If he is not competent, why would the courts award the responsibility of handling the money on his shoulders?

well when she was a kid and becoming a star (mickey mouse club) her dads financial habits made them almost go bankrupt.. they lost cars and i think their house etc.. they were living off of her because he was a screw up.. which is why im worried about him having that much money in his hands.. if he was so bad with it before how good could he be now?? and its not his money so if he loses it its not like he will feel it

I do understand that she is having some mental difficulties but that is just a shame. She worked her a&& off for her millions and to have her father controlling every penny she spends for the rest of her life is just a sad thing. I guess I just react badly to being controlled and I feel for other human beings who are being strung along like lttle puppets. They need to be involved in her life and stuff but not by controlling how much she spends on thongs in a week or something like that. I guess even in America we can be made to feel like we're not even allowed to control our own money that we worked to make. If she goes broke she goes broke. The only reason her parents are wanting to be involved in that is because if she goes broke, so do they. She is their mealticket and they should be punched. You know her dad has a fee owed to him for all his hard work coming out of her money on a regular basis? Sad huh. Thanks DAD for all of your paid help. Glad to see it's done out of love....

I had heard a part of this on TV yesterday or the day before. Apparently this is just a legal thing. He has had control over he finances for months. Regardless of her mental condition, this may still be a good move. Even though she seems okay to the public, there may be more to the story.

he has had temporary control but to make it permanent is ridiculous.. they could at least like give it back to her and monitor her closely in case she isnt ok.. so demeaning in my opinion.. shes an adult and they keep treating her like a kid

I dont understand they said shes doing better now so why is it still necessary for her father to still handle her finances, it seem strange I mean they say shes getting her career back on track and that her health is much better then whats up with them leaving financial control up to her dad??

i know.. shes like 26 (or 27) not like she is really young.. they could monitor her like a hawk if they thought she was still a risk and freeze her accounts at the first sign and give it back to him

i agree with you i think she is fine now she was just going through some stuff. if they were going to do this they should have done it when she was spending all her money, not wait until its all over to take care of it. i think they just need to leave her alone and let her live her life. shes fine she can take care of herself shes been doing it this long. she just needs some peace!
