Do you always look at the dead person in a funeral?

Last night, me and some friends went to a funeral. Most of our companions went straight to the coffin to look at the dead person. However, me and my friend just sat down and waited for the others to join us. Do you always take a look at the dead person inside the coffin in a funeral? Sometimes i do, but oftentimes i don't coz i sometimes have bad dreams when i look at a dead person. I can't erase the face of the dead person from my mind for a long period of time.
