Moving out of home..

I am really hoping to move out of home within the next year, and I need some help. How much money would I need saved up before I could move out? I know this depends on where I am planning to live, but just a general sum would be good. What are some necessary things that I will need, but are easy to overlook? Thanks in advance =)

I won't pull the 1-word answer on you, but in a word.......TONS! I would first figure out an area where you want to live. Explore the rents, looking at the high side. You will need 1st & last months rent, plus security. Which is usually another months rent. You will probably need down payments for phone, electric and cable..... Moving costs, if you are going to have a company come in. If you don't have furniture and are trying to be frugal there, go to a Salvation Army for those things. If it's nice weather, try looking at peoples yard sales. Sometimes they just don't realize what they have. Plus, there are always dishes and linens up for grab. and don't forget to dicker there. I'd look for a place that comes with appliances and then get yourself 1 very good food order to start. Maybe, since you are moving Mom and Dad will spring for that. As you are trying to save, start watching your parents on how they make more than 1 meal from the one they served that night. Hope ths helps...and GOOD LUCK.

You can also start asking friends or family what they did. Keep a log on your findings.
