Are you a milk drinker? What types of milk do you drink? How many gallons per week do you and your family drink? Here in the US, we drink lots of cow's milk. I realize that people in other countries drink goats milk etc. Many people also have milk allergies and drink soy milk. My family drinks about 3 gallons per week of skim (fatfree) cow's milk. Once in awhile I will buy chocolate syrup for the kids to make chocolate milk. We are breakfast cereal eaters and use milk frequently for that. My kids and my husband also drink milk in general. I do not. I try to get my calcium in other dairy products. What about your family? What do you think about milk?

wow, i'm craving for milk..this is my favorite drink specially in the morning., not only milk but also milo, ovaltine and coffee with coffeemate of course. But you know why i noticed that i'm always feeling sleepy and nervous. Several people commented and friend arounds that it's due to drinking a lot of milk that's why i feel dizzy and drinking too much of coffee in the evening that's why i feel nervous. Now..i don't drink too much milk and coffee. I used water as alternatives.

Cow's milk as a wholesome drink is accepted worldwide. In our family, we consume a liter of fat free milk everyday. It is processed and supplied in 0.5 liter pouches to the nearby milk booths by a local Government enterprise OMFED and costs 24 INR (approx $0.5) per liter. We are satisfied with the quality. What is the cost per liter at your place? Thanks for this nice discussion!

We are about the same. About 2 gallons of milk a week. Then I have a daughter that has a dairy allergy and she drinks about a gallon of soy mil a week. I love milk. I love cereal. I love cereal and milk. I especially love drinking the milk after the cereal is gone.

No dairy AT ALL. On top of that my youngest son has severe allergies to Egg and peanuts. My wife is amazing though. She makes some of the best foods you can think of and you never knew they were egg, milk, and peanut free.

Does your daughter have to watch dairy in everything then? My best friend has two children with milk allergies and she has to make sure there is no milk in Anything. Very hard work!

We drink about 4 - 5 gallons a week of fat free milk and I'd say my son Cary drinks at least 50% of it, probably more. Most of the rest goes into my daughter Dearra's cereal. Naomi pretty much has to be reminded to drink milk once in a while. She prefers water. My husband drinks milk, mostly with desserts. I drink it once in a while but not all that often.

I don't like milk, because I'm lactose intolerant, so I started buying one thats called dairy ease, its a lactose free milk, and its good, you can cook with it, and it tastes like regular milk. I use it in cereal, and in other recipes, thats the only way I can have it. My husband don't like milk either, I can't get him to touch it, he won't even eat cereal...haha.

I've noticed that milk has really gone up, you almost pay 5.00 for a gallon of it, no the dairy ease is still the same price I've been paying, I'm surprised.

I don't drink a lot of milk but when I do it is usually chocolate. I find that I like more of the other dairy products than I do milk. I love cottage cheese, cream chese, ice cream, cheese, etc. My kids drink about a gallon a week. If we eat cereal, then we use more.

We don't drink a lot of milk. We are a family of 4 and barely drink a gallon a week, with almost all of that being used in cereal. We have been drinking organic milk for a few months and find that it's helped our youngest with his allergies. We also buy a half gallon of organic chocolate milk, which usually lasts about 2 weeks. We obviously aren't big milk drinkers...

I love milk and drink it fairly often. My boyfriend on the other hand thinks it's nasty! He will only eat it on ceral. We usually always drink 2%, I like skim but the boyfriend doesnt and whole milk is just too thick tasting for me. It's just the two of us so we usually have a gallon for a week and a half 2 weeks. More often than not it goes bad before we drink it. I use it for cooking mostly and the occasional bowl of ceral.

I am a milk drinker from my child hood onwards. I drink cow milk and buffalo milk. My family drinks 1 litre milk a day. I think milk is very energy food to our body. we regularly use milk. If we are not able to drink at least I did take dairy products. Happy to share your views. Happy myLotting.

I do love milk but now just buy the one percent for me. However, I am a firm believer that children under five years need whole milk. My grand twins who live with me consume about a pint of milk a day. I hate both goat and soy milk. My three sons had whole milk and the smallest is 6' 2". mY DAUGHTEER DID NOT LIKE MILK SO MUCH - i HAD TO DISGUISE IT TO GET HER TO DRINK AND AND SHE IS ONLY 5' 3". fORGIVE THE TYPE AND SPELLING. mY FINGERS ARE NUMB FROM TYPING ALL DAY AT WORK.

For children under 5, I have heard that it is not so much the need for bone growth as it is that the fat is needed for brain growth. After that, Children and adults need some quantity of fat every day.

Well, I used to drink 2% Milk, and it was good. I used to drink it sometimes with Chocolate added to it or used it in my cereal and my oatmeal. Unfortunately, due to becoming lactate intolerant, I am unable to drink real milk anymore. What I do drink now is Soy Milk, both with vanilla and sometimes I buy the chocolate. I use it as I did the 2% milk.

Hi rocketj1 oh yes I drink two glasses of milk every day for the c alcium in it and also eat some cheese. I drink one per cent fat as I hate the chalky taste of skim milk.I really think we all should drink enough milk to keep our calcium intake up.

No! I am not a milk drinker. I don't know, I never like the taste of milk. But I like it when added to some food like, ice cream, cakes, chocolates and others. I think I can still get calcium that way and beside I eat a lot of green leafy veggies which are also rich in calcium. It's my hubby and my son who love milk so much. No problem with milk supply though because my hubby is working in one of the biggest milk company here in our country. So we have sufficient supply of milk!

I love milk. I've been drinking it a lot since my pregnancy. For breakfast sometimes I'll eat 2 small honeybuns with a glass of milk. It is so good. I also try to drink a glass before bed. My baby seems to like it. But I try not to drink too much now because I drink a gallon of week. I told my husband that we should buy more milk, but I'm not sure about that, because I might be tempted to drink it all.

I try to get my calcium intake by eating cheeses and any other way than milk! LOL Everyone else in my family drinks milk and I buy at least a gallon a week but I don't like milk. I can eat it wih cereal but that's about as far as I go with it. I do try to use a lot of dairy products because itis ompornat to get calcium but I don't know why I just don't lke the taste. And as for Soy based milk. I pity anyone who has to drink that. I tried it once, thought maybe it would be an alternative, oh my it wasn't a good experience! LOL
