And was absolutely apalled. Im canadian and my health expenses are covered. I was just in the hospital three times in the past two weeks. The x ray tech kept saying my x rays were normal, and when the doctor double checked he found out I have pneumonia. It had spread tomy heart which cuased me to have Paracarditis, meaning swelling of the heart tissue and liquid in the lung. Now I really let that documentary get to me, cause the whole time i was in the hospital the third time arounnd, all I could think of was wow, if I lived in america this is probably 20,000 dollars worth of hospital visits. And I just cant imagine being in the pain i was in and not being able to go get it treated becuase I cant afford it. Here in Canada, we go to the doctors, even if its for a simple cold, get it treated, and leave. No money is ever asked for. Sure we have to pay for our own prescriptions, but MOST jobs have health benefits, so most people in Canada dont even really have to pay for that. My braces were covered, my medicine is covered, my wisdom teeth surgery was covered. Thats all in the past year too, if I have to pay for that all my family would be absolutely bankrupt. I dont mean to offend anyone with this post or anything, But how do you do it? How do you decide whether its worth it or not to get this surgery, or worry about being in debt for a few years cause you really need to get a procedure done? And second question, have you ever thought of becoming a canadian citizen because of it? Im so curious. Thank you, and Id appreciate as many responses as I can get:)

I also saw sicko and what an eye opener it was. As an American citizen who is use to the high cost of health care and watching people being denied everyday, I had non idea that the rest of the world operated any differently. So yes, Canada is looking better but I do admit you scare me with that pneumonia story. Usually pneumonia is fairly easy to detect, I am just curious why it took so long in your case.
