Have you ever proposed a topic to your local newspaper or to your local tv

station? I have, but I haven't heard anything back, so I doubt they will use it. Both have a phone number or email address and request ideas for news features quite often. So have you ever called about news and they used it? Or have you called and heard nothing? I called to put an event into the newspaper one time and the next thing I know, they wanted to interview me. So I've done better without asking for an article. How about you?

Many years ago, I wrote an article that was controversial and the newspaper wanted to add my name to it..My husband said "No Way", he didn't want my name in there with this kind of article..Even then he was cauitous about expressing our beliefs..But it was a good piece, they did want to publish it, but couldn't without my name along with it..

Unfortunately we do have to be careful. Some friends of mine wrote an opinion piece. The newspaper wanted to know who they were to have such opinions. They told the paper they worked for Corrections, but that could NOT be put in the paper. Their names, but not where they worked. Well the paper put it in and they were all called up front. They were all put on probation and could loose their jobs, $40 thousand dollar a year jobs, if they did anything wrong before that was taken out of their records. So you have to be careful with papers. Sounds like it was a really, really good article. Oh well, safety versus info. Guess it's why I like Mylot, safety and info. It's my I don't use my real name when I write. Also gives me distance., they aren't attacking me, just the writer's edge, my pencil led (yeah, right, wish it worked more like that). I've never even thought of proposing a topic to our newspaper! Guess I didn't know I could. But I don't think I could think of something that they hadn't yet covered. That is so cool that you've done this before.

The local tv stations asks for idea to be used in tv programmes. To be honest I never took interest to submit my feedback. However it is intriguing to see your idea on the screen. It would be a great satisfaction.© ronaldinu 2008

It was neat to see my interview on the third page of the newspaper. It's funny how you want them to print an article on an interest and they have no interest. Then you want to put something in the newspaper that's coming up for free and they want to do an article (free events have a 4 line free area in the newspaper every week). So go figure. Thanks for responding.

Maybe or what interested you didn't interest them. I would know because we get the newspaper and watch the tv news. If you don't get the magazine, then that could happen without you knowing about it. Thanks and take care.
