Do you read magazines? What do you do when they start to stack up and you are finished reading them? Do you give them to nursing homes or recycle?

I used to buy womens magazines because not for the stories or tips LOL! But because they had crosswords and competitions in them for me to enter! I would faithfully send off the coupon with all the filled in answers each week but I never won a thing! I would then give the magazines to my mum to read and she would then give them to her sister to read and again would be passed on, so how's that for recycling!

Thats really great recycling there. There are alot of magazines that have coupons and the library would give the magazines away free. So sometimes, it gave people a good read but also saved them some money with the coupons. Appreciate your response!

I take them to my wifes work (restaraunt) or to the Drs office. They always appreciate them. I make sure to remove the address label though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Good point, always remove the labels. I forgot to do that once. Very Important....nice to share with others. I take mine to the nursing home.

I no longer have any magazine subscriptions, but I have had a few in the past (such as "Macleans" and "O"). I would keep the magazines for a while, and THINK about passing them on to local doctors offices and such, but end up tossing them into my paper recycling. I've been known to put large stacks of them in separate bags in the recycling area in case someone else who leaves items there might want to take them to read as well.

I also take them to my sister because she reads them and she likes them. I do like to give them to the nursing homes but I hate to waste because, some of these are exspensive...

I tend to donate them to the hospital, library, hand them on to a friend or let my little sister for school projects/cutting out pictures for fun.

We have a magazine "circuit" in my family. My aunt (who gets magazines from her family and friends) passes them to my mom. She passes them to me (we live 2 and 1/2 hours away so I usually get quite a stack) and I pass them on to a neighbor who passes them to friends. We get quite a variety. Someone in the chain must be redoing a victorian home, and someone else is really into country living. The variety is great. My neighbor's husband is a contractor and really appreciates the "This old House" magazines that we give them. I'm actually very curious to know how far this chain extends!

Oh, I forgot to mention that one time someone must have been looking in their attic and added a Better Homes and Gardens from 1972. Hilarious!
