The Secret? How to do it right?

I am sure we have read about The Secret or the Laws of Attraction.
If not here is the brief:
[i]Thoughts are magnetic and thoughts have a frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out into the Universe and they magnetically attract all like things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source -- you.
Your current thoughts are creating your future life. What you think about most or focus on the most will appear as your life.[/i]
And in the book The Secret, there is a lot of talk about how NOT to think. But no mention on what to think for specific purposes.
The law of attraction does not compute negation. As you speak of negation, this is what the law of attraction is doing:
"I do not want to spill something on this outfit"
... "I want to spill something on this outfit and I want to spill more"
"I don't want that person to be rude to me"
... "I want that persom and more peo-ple to be rude to me"
The law of attraction is giving you what you are thinking about -- period!
So my question is, if I cannot use negation in my thoughts, how am I going to make thinks work for me?
Using the same logic as stated in the book, what if I want to clear my debt?
If I am thinking "I want to clear my debt", the law of attraction would be interpreting it as "I want debts and more debts to come my way"!
How in the world should one be thinking in order to achieve our original idea of clearing debts?
For the above example, we can easily think:
"I will enjoy my outfit and people will love looking at my out fit."
"That person will be nice to me"
There is nothing in the book that will teach or give specific examples on how to think correctly in order to change that frequency that we are sending out to the universe.
Do you have any idea how to think in a way that does not use negation to achieve our goals?
Foe example, if I do not want an accident while driving, how do I think so that the word accident does not come up in my thoughts?
Same goes for debt? or Trouble?

lol =D did u go for the seminar?? IF u go, i guess u will understand the law of attraction in a better way ^_^ hehe
Though the whole thing sounds confusing, but i get what u mean ^_^ Actually the law of attraction is attacking on those key and important words that we dun wnat it to happen, but due to different regions in the universe, thus we attract the wrong things even though the key words are inside.. hehe
For accident, maybe u can think, I wanna drive smoothly and fast..
For debt, maybe u can think, I want to be debtless..
lol =D ANd these thinkings, no matter how negative it is, it won't be as bad as what u think initially.. hehe

Really? there is such a seminar?
Hmm... I never really noticed it before as well.
Well, if you see it the next time, mabbe you can scan a copy for ahgong?
I will try to find it myself as well.
Two pair of eyes will definitely be able to find it faster than one.

Yes all i know all about the secret, or rather what is known as the Laws of Attraction. you asked about how do you get on the road and not have the word accident come up in your thoughts. what you can say is, i am taking a trip today and going to have a good trip. words are powerful, and if you change the words then you will begin to see the changes. if you want to get out of debt, then saying something like, in a short time i will have my credit in good standing. it takes practice, that is why the best thing to do is start writing what you want. the more you pratice writting things down the easier it will be to change the words you use

Yeah... I am working on the list of things I want. And I intend to use the Law of Attraction to get it.
I love your suggestion about the one on credit.
"I will restore my credit to good standing in a short time! And I will maintain that good credit standing for a long time!"

Yea. I've read the book and watched the movie. I prefer the movie more.
Instead of thinking 'I want to clear my debt'.. maybe one can think of 'I want financial freedom' instead. Both means the same thing (kind of).
Instead of thinking 'I do not want an accident', tell yourself 'I want a safe ride' (hmm.. I think I need to tell myself that 'I will be safe' rather than 'I will not fall down')
It's all about using the right adjectives and verbs. Try to avoid words like Not because our brain does not tend to process 'Not'. For example, instead of saying 'Not bad'.. we should say 'Good'.
Anyway, easier said than done but I think it does help to try. It will make you a more positive person.

Yeah... to achieve the status of working the Laws of Attraction to your favor, it is TOUGH!
Having the need to keep a positive outlook at all times. And the need to keep thinking of creative ways to think positively is quite difficult.
I guess to completely tune the mind to think differently from what it is doing now will take some time. And A LOT of effort.
I sure hope I can do it! I am sure I can do it. I will be able to do it! I will do it!

Wow as I read that I got really confused and I hope that the book isn't as confusing. I think that if we change our thoughts away from negative things like an accident sure we wont think of it, but that doesn't mean it wont' happen. It sounds like the idea that an illness is all in your mind. If you think you are sick then you will get sick.

Well, the book is quite clear. And I have re-read my posting and am wondering what is confusing you?
Maybe you can enlighten me so that I can do an explanation to you?
I think you got the gist of what I am trying to say. As in, if we think negative, we will get negative.
But the book also says that when you are thinking, it is the thing that you are focusing on that brings back to you in life.
For example, if you are thinking of clearing your debts, you will most likely be thinking of debts. In your mind's eye, you will be looking at bills and debts. And that is what the Universe is picking up. Thus, using the logic of the law of attraction, thoughts like "I want to clear my debts" or "I want to be debt free" will only attract more debts to you.
So my question is, how is one expected to think if he is worried about his mounting debts, but want to clear them by attracting money to clear his debts using the law of attraction?
