Have you ever used the packets of Jack Daniel's easy marinader? It comes in 3 flavors, mesquite, teryaki, and garlic & herb. We use the mesquite on steak, actually we can't have plain steak anymore, it just doesn't taste the same.
Well tonight I had chicken to cook, but wasn't sure how to prepare it. I wasn't in much of a mood to do anything special, so I used the marinade. It's not done yet, but boy does it smell good!!
I can't wait till it's done so I can see how it comes out.
Which is your favorite marinade and what have you used it on?

I just took it out to check on it, and tasted a bit while I wait for the potatoes to cook and boy it is good, even baked. Usually we grill it, but I don't use the grill and hubby won't be home till late

I've never heard of the Jack Daniel's marinades. I guess they don't sell them here, but they do sound good.
When I marinade things I tend to brush them with some sauce or chutney, whatever I have in the fridge really. I make them all myself, but they never turn out the same way twice. I made a really good green tomato sweet sauce which worked fabulously as a marinade on chicken, but I can't for the life of me reproduce it :-(

I tend to create my own rubs when doing pork or chicken roasts (i have particular rubs for beef roasts) and I have the same problem. I grab a bunch of different herbs and spices, whatever sounds, smells, and looks good to me that day. I never measure, just go by look, and I never right down what combination of spices I use, so I can never duplicate it.

they are all good and my favorite of course is on steak but we have used them on chicken, pork chops, and even on ribs..MMMMMMMMMM, you are making me wish I had cooked tonight. We grill year around and you're right nothing is done plain anymore.

I've used it on chicken, pork, and steak, but not yet on ribs. We only have those every once in awhile, and we've thus far been using the Sweet Baby Ray sauce on them, which comes out real good.

I used the bottle stuff and it was great. Jack Daniels used to be my drink back in the day too
I think that's how I originally got to try it. A sample size came in one of those gift sets. I'll be interested to know how it turns out and if your family enjoyed it.

We did enjoy it actually. It would have been better grilled, but hey! My daughter even had 2nds, which isn't like her.

I love it. I have used them all with garlic & herb being my favorite. I have used it with chicken on the grill and it was great. I have never used it to bake with but I bet it will be wonderful!
Have a great day!

We've only tried that one once, and weren't too crazy about it. I keep trying to give it another shot, but hubby won't be bothered, so I guess we're sticking with mesquite.
It's not that bad in the oven. It would be better on the grill, but alas.
