For adult acne I would recommend products containing salicylic acid. It seems that the benzol peroxide products work for teenagers only. My sister-in-law swears by the Proactive products, so I would consider that if I needed an acne product.

Herbs that work wonders at clearing up acne are: Echinacea taken orally and applied externally to the skin, Oregon grape root applied as a cream, tea tree oil applied to the skin, oregano and basil oil applied to the skin or taken orally.

I recommend Proactive Solutions. I am in my late 20's and have had acne since my early 20's but a few months ago I sent for a free trial of Proactive Solutions and only had to pay$5.95 for shipping. Well I will never go without it because I don't have breakouts anymore and even if I do get a pimple I use the refining mask (it comes free with your first shipment and then costs extra after that) for a quick fix and it works like magic. The stuff isn't cheap but it is well worth every penny spent. After your free trial you pay $19.95 every other month but when it comes time for another shipment you pay $25.95 because of shipping and handling charges. But like I said it is well worth the cost. My face is so much clearer and smoother. I love it and will never go without it! I highly recommend it! :)

I still suffer acne as well, at 35. I think I got the control thing down pat, but it does take a bit more persistance. Once a week, I use St. Helens Mint Julep masque. you can find this at walgreens for a couple of bucks, this dries up whiteheads, and helps to remove blackheads. During the week, I use clean and clear, their special Morning Burst facial cleanser with bursting beads. then I use a blackhead clearing scrub by clean and clear, with salicylic acid acne medication, and then use a cotton ball to put clean and clear toner on my face. Another thing I do, is buy new washcloths for my face all the time. I am picky, and do not like reusing them when I have used it on the rest of my body. so, I get the value packs. (but of course that is a personal choice!)
this usually lasts me the whole day, and then I use baby oil to remove makeup, and then use the morning burst facial cleanser again at night, with a good moisturizer. (moisturize in the morning too!)
