With Halloween right around the corner, I’m playing with Halloween topics so here’s one for everyone to enjoy. We’ve all got ancestors that have passed on both long ago and recently. Some we know a lot about and some we don’t. I’d love to sit down with a few of mine and just have a nice long chat with some of them. I’m not sure that I would like to have a few ghosts pop up around me but I think I’d adjust. I’d love to hear about what things were like, what other members of my family were like and especially one ancestor, Julie Ward Howe (she wrote the Battle Hymn of the Republic), what inspired her to write it, how she feels to know that even today it is still held near and dear to some hearts and just to talk to such an awesome woman. Would you like to spend some time with your late loved ones? Would you freak out if the family ghosts showed up or would you enjoy it? What would you like to talk to them about? I would like to talk to my mother. She passed away this year in July. I miss her a lot. I have hard time understanding why she is away now. She could live much longer, but she lost her fight with cancer. I would talk to her about her life on the other site....

My Grandpa showed up in a dream one time and told me to instruct my brother to move--his lease was up in a month. So I did. The day after they moved out of the apartment, there was a gas explosion there. My oldest brother sometimes comes to me in my dreams and gives me a hug.

I would ask about their life and why thomas c ame here and how did my great grandfather feel about being raised in Kentucky and having six sibling all but two of them, my great grand and his brother Andrew, were girls. I dont think I would freak out I would so want to know about ireland and living in Kentucky.

I had a Norman ancestor fight under William the Conquerer in the 1600's and i would truly love to talk to him since that is my favorite period in history. I would also love to talk to my Grandmothers so that i could write down all the things they told me about our family when i was to young to realize how important it was and didn't write it down.

Hi twoey68, How wonderful it will be but it will freak us out if we see them, but they won't do that to us but I know they will be around us and I know they will be having fun too. Tamara

I would love to spend some time with my ancestors, from way back along with some that have passed not that long ago. I would love to talk to my gramma, as I really miss her and I would like to talk to her about our family history. We have found that we had generals along with Indian cheifs in our family tree. Id especially love spending a day with her getting her recipes! LOL! To be able to go back as far as possible and just talk to them would be so cool! To get the old family history and stories. Heck just to chat would be cool! From my moms side we are Indian mostly so that would be cool to learn more. My biological father is English and I have heard they moved here from overseas. When I dont know but it would be neat to know all that. Yeah I would be so up for it. I have already had encounters with things so nope this wouldnt scare me It would be weird yes, but I would so get into it! What would be even cooler is if we could do time travel! If someone figures that one out, where they are postive they could bring you back and it is like not losing time here, SIGN ME UP! lol

Hi twoey..at Halloween/Samhain the veil of the spirit worls and the earth plane are thinnest and actually your loved ones who have passed on do come and visit you..but they only visit you in a way that they know you wouldn't be afraid, eg you could feel their prescence, smell their favourite perfume or roses, sometimes they will move something like a picture and make it crooked or even put it elsewhere...so you can sit quietly in a candlelight room with a canle infront of you and ask them to draw close and let themselves be known to you...that is the one thing that witches do on Samhain/Halloween to ask for their loved ones to draw near...blessings littleowl

I am very skeptical when it comes to believing in ghosts, part of me wants to believe but there is another part of me that just needs the proof. I have experienced things which at the time I instantly think "ghost" but then when I calm down I always think oh it was my imagination. Anyway in answer to your questions I would probably have a brown trouser moment or two if any of my deceased family showed up but after the shock I would be OK. I most would like to see my Grandma and Grandad, I would talk to them about my kids and would ask my grandad if he forgave me for not going to see him when he was sick and I would just love it!

I would be scared out of my holy wits!!1 But, if they are friendly and mean me no harm, then I will sit and listen to them. But before I talk with them, I need to have about 270 people in the room with me. I will have my ancestors sit on an stage and talk to me from there.. I just don't want to be alone when I talk to them, that is!

I would love for any ghosts to pop up around me (nice ones anyway) It would be cool to meet them and see how their lives were and to see how things really are on the other side.

Yes, twoey, I have questions that I never got to ask, and I would like to. I saw a british show that said , do not use a ouiji board because it will be an invitation to spirits to come into your home and its harder to get them to leave if you invite them in. It showed a lady who had to remove a bad ghost from this familys house. She had to take the board away from that house before the ghost would leave. She said dont play around with those boards because you may get a bad ghost. I have also heard that Ghosts are more apt to come to you when you are sleeping. The reason is you are more open at that time and closer to their world. I studied some of this for awhile. It also said that you may see a friend or relative if they have passed, in a dream, when they are trying to warn you about something or deliver a very important message. Paranormal, activity and studies are very interesting. Its not impossible that anyone may just get a chance at some point to see, or be contacted by a realtive or friend that has passed.
