I found my hospital bills!

I was in the emergency room way back in June for some breathing problems and I've been waiting for the bills. I know it takes a month or two for them to submit it to my insurance and I got that statement a while ago. Since I haven't met my deductable yet for the year I knew I should be getting the bills so I could pay them. Well, I've been waiting and waiting for them and I was going to call them next week if I didn't see something soon. Well, tonight I was talking to my Mom on instant messenger and she said I have some bills over there that look like there from the hospital. She's been getting them for a couple months and keeps forgetting to tell me!! ARGH!!! I have to go over there tomorrow night and pick them up so I can get them paid before my reimbursement plan expires! I wish my Mom woulda told me sooner!

reiny how did they get your mom's address? I want to tell you my son who lives in Nevada and we live in CA for some reason his dentist kept calling us to confirm his appointment. I do not know how they got our number neither does he. They called three times and that is when my daughter and I was in Washington and so my husband ignored it because he knew it was not for him.
The day we got to my son's he was suppose to have one of his wisdom teeth pulled and the office canceled his appointment because he did not confirm. They said they called him three times. Well yes they left three messages in CA on our phone.
Oh well he gave them his phone number in Nevada.

I used to live with my mom, after my divorce. That was from 1993 to 1998. In 1998 I moved into my own house and just moved 4 years ago to this house. When I gave blood a while back I changed my address - they're linked directly with the hospital. And when I was in the emergency room over the summer they had the right address... There are a few things I can't seem to get to come to my house. My Sam's credit bill went to my mother's a couple years ago and she didn't realize it was a bill and kept forgetting to give it to me. It was about 3 months past due when I paid it, after I had called them a couple times to get a new bill. I changed the address with them a few times also, and even got all the junk mail from them. But the bill they still can't seem to get to me - even though they've closed the account.
I wonder if your son has you listed as the emergency contact and the people at the dentist were reading the wrong contact number? That's a shame that they cancelled his appointment. I was thinking they'd probably be stupid to think they'd have to call a CA number, but with cell phones, you can live in one state and have a number from another.

reiny I never thought of them calling us because of our number on the emergency contact form. You may be right. He was not mad it just meant that he got to spend more time with his mother and sister. We where sorta of glad also.

That's good that it turned out ok. I hope he did get the toothache taken care of though!
