More on cats and feathers!!

Puttu (my male cat) is after feathers again. This time, it is not a peacock feather (refer to my previous discussions); it is an ugly crow feather. Obviously, Puttu doesn't share my opinion of it. To him, it is the most exciting thing on earth. He brought it inside the house and glared at me as if to say, "Now let me see you throw this away." Of course, I tried to pull it out of his mouth, and he disappeared under the bed with it. To cut a long story short, that crow feather is now Puttu's prized possession. He chews it, bites it, rolls on the floor with it, tosses it into the air, and jumps after it, and of course, doesn't allow me to touch it. Has your cat ever taken a fancy to anything? Cheers and happy mylotting

In my opinion you should be thankful it is just the feather without the whole crow being attached to it!!!! I have had to close off my kitties access door so that I do not have to be awakened by such rambunctious noise as they make with the creatures of their fancy. Now if they want to get into the house they have to climb a ladder that goes up the outside wall and into one of the upper apartments to another ladder that my brother built from a hole he put in the floor, which brings them down into the storefront beside my apartment, and the open door that I leave for them. They do not bring their prizes with them over that obstacle course!!!

Yes it is a very long walk, and the ladders are steep and high. I am amazed that it hasn't slowed down their trips in and out of the house... well, they do by-pass that whole routine by meowing at the door periodically, but they are in and out as much as they ever were, just minus their catch. One day I was sitting here talking to my mother on the phone and a kitty was sleeping beside me. My mother says "Oh, there goes Montezuma (her name for one of my kitties) with a bird" "He's over in front of your house with it!" Just as she's saying this the kitty sleeping beside me suddenly sits bolt upright and stares in that direction, through walls and everything, super-alert, and then tears off the chair full speed ahead, up and down ladders, hehehe, to go join his brother in the fun. Thanks for the BR!

If you're lucky, he will mangle it so much that it will lose it's appeal and you'll safely be able to dispose of it. Alternativley, you could find him another peacock feather to play with!

We have 2 cats at home. One is the inside cat and the other is the outside one. the cat outside is sometimes taking home some prey. We are feeding him anyway, but I am just wondering why he wants to roam around and chase those helpless little creatures. sometimes he would take little birdie in his mouth and there are times that he would take home rats or squirrel. hahahaha.... that's his delicious food maybe better than we gave him.
