How hard is it to be mother?

I'n really not close with my mother. So thats why I have no idea on how hard is it to be a good mom. If i'll be a mother soon, I want to be the best mom to my child, a mother that always comforts her children and protect them with all her heart. I have no idea on how to be one. what are the things should I do for me to be a good mom. Are there books that could help me know my responsibilities? for mom's out there, can you give me an idea on how to be just like you. hope I could receive some advise from you guys.
