A hypocrite is someone who overlooks his/her own faults while judging others. He/she pretends he/she is prefect or better than others. He/she is always right and they are wrong. Therefore, he/she feels he/she has the right to stand in negative judgment. What would be the best way to handle/deal with a hypocrites especially if they are amongst your family circle, relatives or best friends? Will you along with their hypocrisy or will you want to do something about it?

If it does not hurt anyone. I let it go. But if the hypocrisy harms someone or makes anyone look like afool. Than I speak up. as I do not like someone pointing other other faults when they do the same thing. I always tell them to not throw stones when you live in a glass house.

There is an expression "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" or "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" - basically if you're doing something yourself and critising others for doing it, you're being a hypocrite. I have no time for people like this.
I might sometimes advise a younger person against doing something which might not be good for them but I won't make out I've not done it myself in the past - I will tell them of my experience and suggest that they learn from it. Other than that, I know I couldn't act like a preacher when I am no saint myself :)

I know a girl who is such a hypocrite. I cannot stand to be around her because she annoys me too much. She thinks she is better than everyone around her and that she can do no wrong while everyone else is making mistakes.

Yhea your right it is hard to deal with hypocrite person, but as I thought maybe we have nothing to do about his/her attitude, we cannot control any other person even we told them our feelings about them. Only we can do is to control ours not them, maybe try to avoid them or if they are one of the members of the family try not have a long conversation or not to deal with them personally so that there is always peace. We are the one who can know how bad to be hypocrite so why we must be like them if we always
deal with them.
deal with them. @patzel88 (3310)

well i have also encountered the same problem and it is in my family circle, it is a hard time for us to manage especially she is my mother in law and she feels that she is perfect and could not do any mistakes. But because i am a member of the family i try to manage my self not to say any bad words to her, for i still respect her as my mother and i dont want to make her feel bad about me so the best thing that i do is to ignore her and not to talk with her in a long conversation to prevent any misunderstanding.
