Have you tried being given an extra change by the cashier? What did you do with it? I have tried it, not only once but maybe three or four times. What I do before keeping my change is to count how much I was given. A few times I am given an extra change that I give back immediately. I always make sure the extra change will be given back. Even if it wasn't given to me. If my son tells me that he was given an extra change, I tell him to give it back. I overheard someone telling her son that the extra change he got is for him. and it shouldn't be given back because it is a good luck money and besides it is not their fault when there was an extra change. I couldn't do that to my son. Adults must teach their children not to be cheaters instead children must be taught to do what is right.

most of the time i never really even count my change whether it is cents or dollars. i just put it in my wallet. there was this one time that i had gotten and extra $10 back and by the time i had lookedin my purse i was at home and it was late at night. but if it happens during one of the times that i am still in the store then i definitely give it back becuase people can get in trouble if they ar e short from their cash register.

you are kind and honest mother. that's great to know of what you have been doing for your child. if i were in the situation, i surely would give it back coz a few pennies ain't worth for a big headache that cashier would have during closing of the day. they will pay for what they have given you, although it's not the recipients fault but let's just be responsible for what is not suppose to be ours. it is just not fair when you are enjoying extra penny while the other is having a big headache how to replace such small amount. who knows the cashier might have needed it more than you do.
