what doyou say when your son or daughter ask did you experiment with drugs?

do you tell them the truth are do you lie.we too been young before and did a lot of things to know what works and what don,t.so how do you explain you once tried drugs and many other things we all did things we are not proud of but we don,t do it now that the point.give your comment

WEll my kids are small still but when they got older and ask about it I think I would tell them some things I did before, never tried any though, just smoking and tried to smoke mj before, but only twice, just tried..

annji, Because I believe in honesty so strongly, I have to say yes. Along with the truth I also described my experience that went along with the expeimenting. I don't think you have to go into great detail of all your different experiences unless asked. My experiences were not all good. It sounds like an excuse, but I was one of those who experimented under peer pressure. My first husband was really into experimenting and pressuring me into trying these so called great feelings that he got out of it. I really was aprehensive and scared but eventually gave in. Unfortunately almost without exception my experiences were all bad. No matter what you tell your kids they are going to do what they feel inclined to do, so in my book, honesty is the best policy. leenie

Annji, I agree with you. I do feel fortunate to have escaped any bad long lasting effects. As you said, the peer pressure is overwhelming sometimes. Our kids are expected to make very difficult and sometimes dangerous decisions. All we can do is teach them right from wrong and hope they make the right choices. A long the way, we hope we too have made the right choices. That is all we can do. leenie
