What is better an Ipod or a sony mp3 player that has got direct USB connectivity,voice recorder,fm player What is your opinion on this matter considerind ipod Shuffle in your mind

Think very hard and try and check out what is coming in the future a few years ago i was thinking about what to buy and I sort of liked the Mini disc player so i bought one of them and it wasn't cheap then out come the ipod and the old mini disc was almosr obsolete...
