Broken Coffee Pot

Well wouldn't you know it? I got up in anticipation of that first cup of hot coffee. I prepared my pot and clicked it on. I went and took my shower, got dressed and hurried back toward the kitchen, half way there I noticed that the coffee aroma I usually can smell wasn't there. And sure enough it wasn't working. Boy what a let down. I just can't seem to get my day started without my coffee. For some reason this seems to happen just as the Holidays are closing in on me. But at least it was some minor appliance, not like when my stove decided it wanted to give me a hard time on Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. How do you cope with broken appliances in your kitchen? Do you run out and purchase a replacement right away or improvise until you can have someone check it out?

If my husband can't fix it, we either do without, hope we can find a cheap one somewhere or we wait until it goes on sale while saving up for another one..

I wish I could wait but sales are few and far between here. Lucky for you ,your husband must be a good handyman.

We have to wait for sales, even if it took months, we can't afford paying full price..And yes, my husband is good at fixing some things, so that helps a lot..

My Coffee Pot - My Bunn Coffee Maker. No More Disappointments
I got so sick and tired of paying out good money for coffee makers that would only last six months to a year. You know you drink too much coffee when??? We finally went out and spent about three hundred and fifty dollars on a new reataurant coffee maker but we've had it for years and we've had zero problems. I love it. It doesn't have the feature where you set a timer but no big deal it only takes three minutes to brew.

In the long run you will end up saving money. That's why i'm not going to get one from a thrift store or try to get by with some cheap model. I think it would last a few days (maybe weeks) then break down and then I will have to buy another one. I know I don't need a big one since I'm the only one who will be using it. I am using a tea maker until I can get to the store and it works just fine. The tea maker was my son's idea.

A few weeks ago I blew up my electric tea kettle. The thing just went bang one day when I plugged it in. I love tea. For a few days until I got a new kettle I had to boil my water in a pan on the stove because microwaved water makes terrible tea. If that wasn't enough, my coffee pot also somehow stopped working at the very same time. Fortunately at the local discount department store I was able to get both appliances for a total of less than $40!

Well you are a thrifty shopper. I am going to get my new coffee maker today. In the mean time I am using a tea maker and it is working just fine. Thanks to my son. Not only did he suggest it but it is on loan from. Where there's a will there's a way!

It depends what gets broken really. If its something minor, I dont bother, I just buy a new one, if its something more expensive I get it checked and then buy a new one if necessary. I always buy quality stuff so they dont leave me stranded often.

Oh I must say I got good use from that coffee pot. It is about 16 years old. Been moved around and put in storage for months and then dug out and used every day since. Sometimes more than once a day. It wasn't cheap when I purchased it around $45 and everyone thought that was way too much to spend for a coffee pot. I don't think I will be able to find another one that will work as well or last as long as this one has.
