The eternal derby

This evening most of the football fans in my country will be watching the match between Dinamo Bucharest and Steaua Bucharest. Because of the national and international results these clubs have had over the years, because the great players these clubs have produced and because the huge number of fans they have compared to all the other teams in Romania, this match is considered here "The eternal derby".
I hope this 117th derby will be a spectacular one and my favorite team, Steaua, will win.
Is there such a derby in your country? A match that no matter the position in the tables the teams are in it electrifies all the football movement in your country?
Or, if football is not so developed in your country, what is the derby you enjoy the most?

Hi there Vasile. I know the derby ended up as a 1-1 draw, but at least it has enough excitement and quality football in it. The goal from the 8th minute looked like this will turn into a new victory for Steaua but after half time it seemed that Dinamo came back into the game for a while but the header made by Cristea in the 83th minute changed the tide of the game making it a draw for both sides.
I hope Steaua wins the next games against Dinamo...

I was really upset for that result, for they way Steaua didn't managed to win that match.
I am really sad about this discussion, I think people read the first part with the Steaua-Dinamo derby and don't read on to see that the discussion is about the derbies all around the World.

For me the only derby I bother about is the Edinburgh derby because it involves my team Hibernian against the pub team Hearts. 
I suppose most people would say but the old firm derby (between Rangers and Celtic) is better but no the Edinburgh derby is as passionate and it's also older than the old firm derby.

You don't necessarily need to have the same opinion as most of the people... That's one of the reasons I started this discussion: to learn more about the derby each one of us expects the most and lives passionately.
By the way, there's another great derby coming up for me: this week "Classico" between FC Barcelona (

That is a great derby. One year we tried to get tickets for the Milan derby but couldn't get them, not a great surprise really. I really enjoy the Edinburgh derby there's just nothing like it.
