People who pack house for you

So I was just skiddle diddling around on LJ a few minutes ago and came across a post that a woman posted about packing house. Well I think I have heard of this before, but what I can't understand is why anyone would want to hire someone to do it when they don't know if they will be professional with their belongings. I mean, the Glad Force Flex Commercials come to mind when I'm thinking about it. I know the commercial was to prove how strong the trash bag was, but well I certainly wouldn't want any of our belongings to be put in a trash bag at any rate.
So what's your take on this?
Psst, by the way I'm talking about movers that pack and move your stuff too (just in case I confused any of ya)

I think I have heard of people hiring others to pack up and move their stuff for them when they are moving, but I do not know why anyone would want to do this, because movers are not always careful with your belongings, and I think the best people to pack and move your stuff,is you,and me and my parents have only moved once as you know, and when we moved from the trailer to this double wide,we packed and moved everything ourselves, and one of my friends moved in with a guy from California and he was talking about how he got people to move all his belongings and how many things ended up damaged on broken,I love you.

I agree that people are better of trusting their stuff to either themselves and / or family and friends to whom they know will be careful with their belongings. I remember what you are talking about when it comes to the guy from California although I had to ask for clarification from you. I know that there is only one time when I was first moving out on my own that someone helped me pack but it was a friend and her sister. I Didn't know / trust her sister that well but I trusted her so therefore let her help pack. I was just getting off work when we packed , I believe. Now there is another time I forgot about when my grandmother packed my stuff when I moved in with you. That was more of a forced move, but I think it was partially because she thought I had already moved and partially because my uncle was probably causing a bit of ruckus.

I would believe that if a person comes to pack your house up that it would be everything in the house. If it were me hiring the person I would specify that everything is to go and nothing be tossed out. That way you could go through the items once you get settled.

I know that I would rather do it myself because whose to say that they wouldn't forget something or think it's trash and throw it away. There are some things that people collect that others would call junk. One's Man Junk is another man's treasure. At any rate, that's just my own opinion. I appreciate the response.

I have moved a couple of times and I know how difficult it is to do. God knows how I managed a move but I did. Cheers!!

I have also moved a few times and although I didn't have any belongings that you would think would be to keep house, I have had quite a car load of things to move.
I appreciate the response!
