Dear Noel, like you I am from the southern part of India.I am from AP. But due to my father, who was a central government Servant, we stayed mostly in Maharashtra.Inspite of that we brought up in the same fashion like other people from AP. Because of this we were eating rice on daily basis both the times along with Chapati which is a local food in Maharshtra. Now since I got married to a Bengali girl, I had no problem in adjustment as in Bengal also rice is the staple food. Thus from my childhood totill my marriage I was on rice because of mother and there after I am on rice now because of my wife! I relish rice and I feel it easy to digest and it is convenient to eat when compared to chapati as it requires less time to cosume when compared to chapati! We have rice in various forms like pulao, Biryani, kheer, fried Rice , Tamring Rice, Lemon rice and plain boiled rice !!! Rice is also used in preparations like idli, Dosa and many sweets and salty dishes which are fried in oil! So, I am also a regular rice eater and have rice every day ! Wish you all the best and happy myLotting!!!!

I grew up eating rice twice a day, normally lunch and dinner. But now I just eat rice once a day or sometimes twice but thats very rare. We eat pasta or noodles for lunch and sometimes sandwiches.

Hi Noel, rice is our staple food; we usually take it twice a day for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, it's more like bread or noodles. Sometimes we also eat other food, rather than rice, like spaghetti or steak.

Rice is the staple food in the Philippines. It is part of every lunch and dinner, and to some including breakfast. I eat steamed rice everyday. I am used to eating rice since I learned how to eat it. A day is not complete without eating rice.

I wish I could eat rice every day! A majority of my favourite dishes are served with rice, and I can't get enough of it. Unfortunately, my family doesn't like rice as much as I do, so I rarely get to have rice =(

hello my friend, i am a big big rice eater. its a staple food here but i can eat rice in all my meals. i just love it. i love the pudding made out of rice. because rice have a lot of carbbbbohydrate in it one need to burn tem so teh person who is on a heavy side should think before filling it in his / her plate. i was never having any issues with weight ever in my life but now after pregnancy i have gained lots of weight. i just crave for rice now as i have cut rice totally from eating . my dietician said that i can sometime have brown rice but i dont like the taste of brown one so i avoid. i use to eat rice everyday and in the lunch it was never that i had anything other than rice ever in my life. but now i have stopped eating from last two months. happy eating rice....... :-)

Here in Philippines, rice is a staple food, I think us Filipino think that our meals are not complete without rice. We eat it three times a day as well, on our breakfast, lunch and dinner. So it's kinda very important and common food to see in our table.

Hi noel0000, I think I ate rice just twice this week - once in a Turkish restaurant on Tuesday and once at home, when I made this Serbian rice dish called Djuvec. I try to vary what I eat during the week, so I would normally switch between rice, potatoes and noodles as the basis of any dish I eat. I suppose it also depends on the part of the world you come from. Regardsfrom Germany. Umart

Rice is not as much of a staple in the US as it is in other countries. My family and I eat it about once every week or two. I do love it!
