Do you buy your costume at the last minute?

I am a huge procrastinator, but I still usually get my Halloween costume in November or early October. However this year, I didn't get my Halloween costume until Halloween morning. Apparently, this is quite common. All the stores were filled with people trying to throw together a last-minute costume. There was virtually no costumes either and after visiting 4 stores, I ended up getting a hippie costume. Luckily, since it was Halloween, it was 50% off, so I only spent $15, which was the first time something good came out of procrastination. So have you ever bought your costume at the last minute? And if so, what did you have to do to get it?

I usually end up keeping all the costumes we have ever gotten or was given to us so the last few years we have just been using the same ones since we take care of them and use them only one a year or so they remain in great shape. Kids costumes are different growing kids needs costumes every year almost. Kids have to have their costumes for school a week before Halloween so we have to get them early and at full price. I love 50%-75% off sales after Halloween it is the best time to stock up for next year.

That's what I want to start doing, getting them at the after halloween sales. I wanted to keep all the costumes I had from previous years, but I grew out of them, though I think I'm done growing now, so I can start doing that.

We try to keep them all you never know when another kid might need them that doesn't have one. I have loaned out the ones that fit the kids alot so it saves them money and they can use a good costume.

I didn't get a costume this year. Last year, I didn't either but Sister ended up getting me some 60s waitress get-up and Boyfriend as Darth Vader. She decided to be another waitress too over the Spam costume she also got. The year before that, I didn't get one again but I wanted to dress up so I just looked in my closet and voila, I became a gypsy. The other year, I was a sexy (in a tamer context) girl, again, a search in my closet helped me out. The last time I bought a costume was the year before that and I was a geisha. I didn't have to fight for it as I bought it way ahead of time and went partying at Castro. Woohoo!
