In spite of objections form public opinion, many students can't draw themselves away from video games. It seems that the more they are prohibited from playing the games, the more they are tempted to do so. Video games are harmful to both the individual and society in many ways 1,They endanger the young people's health.Sitting in front of the computer for hours on end is bad for the player's eyesight as well as his entire physique. 2,They distract the young people attention from their work and study.Absorbed in the games, the player often forgets to go to work or class.Somtiems even if they are at work or in class, they are still thinking of the games they played or are going to play after work or after class. As a result, they quickly fall behind others in their work or class. 3,They lead young people to moral degradation. Some young people are especially interested in games that are filled with violence. If they play these games a long time, they may also settle disagreements through violence, which may give rise to higher crime rate. What do you think about it ????

As the saying goes, as long as you can control your game time video games shouldn't be such a horror. I totally agree with you on 1 and 2. No. 3 is an exaggeration. I play video games frequently and new games are especially hard to leave but i know when i gotta stop when i have work to do. For younger kids they probably need parental control but as an adult you gotta realise life is way more important than games. Take away the game and you've got nothing left. And you do loose focus of reality when u get too absorbed in a game and that's when you need someone to snap you out of it.

I totally agree with you especially when it comes to playing video games filled with violence. Young children are not mature enough to handle what they see in such video games and their minds don't distinguish between real and imaginary actions. I don't understand parents that allow their children to play such video games. How many times have you heard of children acting out what they saw either in a video game or on television? As parents it is our duty to monitor what our children do.

Hi, Yup,I absolutely agree with you.Reminds me of my younger brother, once he sits in front of the PS2 he never stops until my mom turns it off no matter which level he is on.What's bugging is that I never get the T.V until he turns it off. I agree with all the 3 points that you stated. For the third point I think younger teens should be only allowed to buy games with less or no violence, there are some games that are based on animation movies, that would be better than playing violent games.

I agree that video games are harmful to children. Especially of they get addicted to them. Video Games can obstruct your mind from thinking and functioning correctly. It also harms your eyesight a lot too. Playing video games 2 hours per week is really good. But playing an hour everyday is not. You should try to stop yourself from playing even though it is almost impossible for some people(like me). But I still try.

I think video games should be played responsibly. It is a form of recreation for me, but it should not turn into addiction which will surely have conflicts with work or study. If you are going to play video games, you should first do responsibilities before playing, learn how to balance your time. after all, all work and no play makes you dull and vice versa. Violence in games and young people. Video games have ratings; for example (M for mature is for 18 yrs old and above only) the games are classified accordingly and games with violent content should not be sold to the younger population.

I think that video games are inanimate objects with no alterior motives, intentions, or even brains. They can't make us do anything we're not already willing to do. I think we humans need to start taking responsibilty for ourselves and our actions rather than blaming our faults on other people, or in this case, things. For instance, the violence point. If we're talking about a child here, the parents shouldn't let them play a violent game if they don't like it. And if they are allowing them to play one, teach them you can't act that way in reality. Don't depend on a video game to teach your child right from wrong. And if we're talking about adults, or young adults, I would hope that they could decipher the difference between right and wrong already and know that what they're seeing doesn't correspond with how they should act as civilians. I played video games growing up, still do, and it hasn't at all ruined my chances for a normal life. No entertainment is to blame, just people.

My brother is an avid addict to video games. Myself i enjoy playing online action or RPG games. However, i must say that it isnt exactly an issue of games you have the movies that are basically violence and inappropriateness all in one. My younger brother is a huge and i mean huge fan of marvel comics. However, Daredevil the movie had nothing to do with the comics and more to do with two people falling atop of each other. Again, yes games such as Resident Evil and the like are glorifying violence, but it depends on the person, on the child playing. As well as the parents. Do they let the child play for hours on end? Does the child not participate in OUTDOOR activities?? All these things i think need to be considered... don't you?
