Battle England made an effigy of Palin and then fill with explosives. Then as you can imagine they blew it up. Complete with a firework display. It i an annual event in which they pick a political figure and blow them up. Blair and Brown (prime ministers) have had their effigies blown up in the past. How do you feel about this? Considering all the contraversy here in AMerican over the halloween effigies of both Palin and Obama should they have done it? Is it in good taste to blow up any political figure?

I think it is totally disrespectful not only to the politician but to our country and for the leaders in their country not to put a stop to it says the same of them.

I agree. It is bad when we do it to our political figures but to have foreign country do it is a whole other level of disrespectful.

Think of all the CO2 that is being thrown up into the atmosphere because of blowing up these effigies. Bad taste to blow up, hang, or burn an effigy of a political figure. Yes it is free speech but not all speech should be spoken or acted upon. If someone does not like a candidate just do not vote for them, campaign against them, but using effigies do not accomplish anything except create more angrier for the other side.

While I don't get the point of blowing up political effigies, it looks like they aren't really doing it for the same reasons some Americans have been hanging the effigies. They may have done it just to join in on the Palin effigy abuse fun. It doesn't feel like they did it out of malice, though, so I guess it's not really a big deal.

I would consider it disrespectful and tasteless no matter where in the world it was done and who the effigy was.
