My friend Alicia of 18 years is getting married I am very excited for her. She asked me to be the Matron on Honor and I agreed. The plan was that I was going to fly in for her wedding a week before to help with all the last minute things and have her bachlorette party, but I just found out other friends are getting married the week after!!! So if I want to go to both weddings I can’t fly in the week before her wedding because that would put me in FL for 2 weeks and I can’t be there that long! But I don’t want to say no I won’t be there at the other wedding either. So what do I do?? Alicia and Josh: Told me the date months ago She has been a friend for 18 years I am in the wedding Mike and Mel: Just told me the date the other day Mike is a friend of my husband – then me I am a guest It would be impossible for me to get 2 weeks off work. I really want to be there for my friend for that last week of stuff to do. I want to go to both weddings. I already bought all the stuff for the bachlorette party! That I am in charge of!!! What would you do?

No brainer, go with Alicia. You all have been partners in crime for quite some time. Yes I remember a few wars too but that's what friends are for right? When is the wedding anyway? Is this "that" boyfriend you spoke of.

Yes this is the boyfriend I wasn't so sure about. But over the past year even more really I have talked to him a few times and also see how happy Alicia is so I guess I can give in! I only want the best for her! April 11th is the wedding date that means I'll be there for Easter too!! Two big holidays in a row!! Christmas and Easter!!! Mom already started planning - you know her!

I usually find that things like this always happen really close together. With us we do not get invited to anything for months on end and then we will get invited to loads of things that we either cannot get to or cannot afford or something like that. I really do not know how you could work it but I guess that someone will come up with a plan for you!

Well I will defiantly go to my girls wedding I just need to figure out if I am going to: go just for the wedding and go to the other or if I am going to go in a week early for her wedding and miss the other

I'd stick to my original plans to help her out and throw the party...you are the Matron of honor. The other...send your husband to that one! that way both weddings are attended and you arent backing out of prior engagements as well.

I think that is going to be what I do. I need to wait till it gets a little closer I may be able to do both but depending on if its a payroll week or not.

It happens sometimes. I guess you have to really think about who you should really attend the wedding to. If you choose your friend .. I'm sure your husband and his friend will understand it.

I am going to attend Alicia and Joshs wedding no matter what. The problem is do I go to there wedding a week before and miss the second wedding OR do I go the day before there wedding and attend both?

Alicia and Josh's wedding is the priorty it is April 11th Mike and Mel's wedding is April 18th If I do what is planned I will go to FL on April 6th and leave the 13th. If I go to both weddings then I have to go to FL on the 10th and leave the 19th. I already told Alica that I would be at her wedding a week before to help with the last minute things BUT that was before I knew of the second wedding.

You need to check yourself as well. Can you handle going to both wedding? will it affect your leave of absence from work? do you have enough money for the trips? If you can handle both then you can go ahead and do it. It might be better to go a week before the wedding so you can have time to the other wedding too.
