this is a Chinese proverb: the words are so simple but the meaning is very deep ... We are leaving in the world/earth that was left to us by our anchestors ... and we will be leaving it to our future generations .. Our current generation are more into cutting the trees and leaving no shade what is your view on this cheers

trees - a group of trees in the forest
Hi there! That is a wonderful proverb. Something to think about and an awakening for the current generations. Yeah it's sad that our environment are being destroyed by people. And I think the ones who suffer will be the next generations. There will be no shades for them to see. That's why a lot of countries have been experiencing floods because fewer and fewer trees are left and that is a karma for us. I hope people will be awakened and learn something from these disasters and maybe start taking care of the environment, starting from our own backyards. Ciao!

yes, and I may also add that yet another generation cuts off the tree! This is so true specially of old houses in my city Kolkata. It was once a city of beautiful houses and close-knit neighbours who enjoyed each other’s company. Now in every lane and bylane you will see these houses being broken down and newer, smaller and uglier apartment blocks coming up!

This is a very good discussion. It always pains me that we have enjoyed whatever left of the nature to the brim and are polluting it fervently without any qualms. How can we be so irresponsible because it is our children who are going to own this world. What are we going to leave behind for them? Can we rest in peace leaving behind a hell for our children?

How true. I do beleive in planting a tree every year. I am in a transferable job and move from place to place every 2-3 years. I have never enjoyed the fruit of the trees planted by me, but I love to plant a tree each year and look after it all year till it is strong enough to survive on its own. If everyone plants at least oen tree every year and ensures its survival, there will be plenty of trees for teh future generations.

Yes its indeed a good proverb. In school they use to say to plant a tree on our every birthday. That was the best thing i have ever heard.
