I have been told I have Fibromyalgia by the doctor for about 7 years now. I have had it for years.. The Docs just didn't know I had It. At first I would have like the flu about once a month or less (20 yrs ago) then the episodes (what I like to call them) got closer and closer together ...like 4 good days - felt strong and full of energy - 3 bad felt like I could never get out of bed (10 yrs ago)and nothing helped from there it got worst to where I only had one good day a week and I wanted to hurry and get as much done because I knew I would be in bed the next day. It got so bad that I think I spent a summer in bed . Went to doc, took every test they had (or it felt like it) took different medicinces but have learned though trial and error that I am very sensitive to certain meds speaking .. antidepressions thats one of the the first things a doctor wants to put you on But be careful so far I havent found one that's works for ME, Cymblta (sp) is one that if mixed with certain other meds even small doses can cause a person to have halucanations (sp) really bad I seen a friend and a sister go thought in just one or two doses kinda scary and not pretty they really though they were losing it. I am about too try effexor - half of 37.5 (that was to strong felt like a zombie)(too many kids for that) for my thyroid and moods..also take small doses only 75 mg of lyria at nite (less side affects)I take loratab 1/2 to one a day for five years, Ibu, sometimes I think people are started on too high of doses Sis take 300 lyrica said her hands and face swell she trying to go down on it but one of her doc want her to go up to 400 dont seem good?I still have pain days but compared to 2 years ago I feel better. A lot of it is forcing yourself to get up and move around right away when you awake , do not lay around the more you lay the more pain you will have. You have to go back and forth, move for an hour or two, then sit or lie for 30 min to an hour depends on the day.. Have found out that if I do not eat red meat I feel alot better I am a slow digester too. but but sometimes I have to take a couple bites! because you always crave something when you can't have it! well just wondering what meds others take and how they affect you?

i have also been diagnosed with that but they are not all that sure about what i have but my most pressing and serious problem are my knees and the lack of cartlidge that i have between them. i take celebrex and tylonel for the pain and only eat small meals which also helps. i also pace myself and take rests when working and find that if i do too much one day, i really suffer the next day because of it (not only because of my knees either). my biggest issues are that i dont sleep that well and i take immovane for that.

seems like your doing whats best for you, I also eat that way small amounts, and yes I can re-late to the next day but it seems it does not matter if I do a lot or a little I still have to rest the next day...my knees are o.k. so far knock on wood! take care and thanks for your response mskaylla
