I went on Itunes and guess what I found? A free video download for Coldplay's Lovers in Japan. And of course, I just have to have it. I've already seen it before but I just have to have it in my own computer. Not from Youtube or from any other sites. I want the video so right now, I feel that "high" feeling just watching the video over and over again. Be warned though, parts of it may give you seizures or at least a headache.
I love love love love love Coldplay. To this date, I still listen to their music every week. I have all their albums and their single releases and other stuff. I even download Chris Martin's (the lead) songs that he collaborated with other artists. I have a Coldplay sweater that I bought from one of their three concerts that I've been to. I try to watch them perform on TV, I even recorded SNL because they were the guest band and I was stoked because they played not two, but three, songs!
So is there a band or musician that you just can't quit?

Well of course you know the answer to that one from me Ms Saintly.
So OK fine I went and watched a couple of Coldplay videos on youtube ON DIALUP just for you. And while I think it's cute that you like them so much, they sound like one of those Christian rock bands to me! But you probably aren't as fed up with 'Christianese' as I am so that wouldn't be a problem for you I guess. They're ok, but I'll stick to the Incredible String Band thanks!

I've read that article and for the record, I don't enjoy Mark Morford at all. He is that kind of critic who thinks everyone is beneath him but I wonder if he didn't swoon and pee his pants off when he met other better musicians in his mind. Ahahah. No hatin' on my Coldplay. In Morford's defense though, he did this when they came out with their third album and that album is my least favorite although it has two of my favorite Coldplay songs in there. Apparently, he hasn't really listened to the other lyrics in their other songs to say that they are non-political.
We can just agree that I will let you obsess about Incredible String Band (do you call them ISB or is that offensive?) and you will let me obsess about Coldplay. Deal?

Hahahaha, I tend to be one of those kinds of critics too, so no wonder I enjoyed his article! I pretty much agreed with pretty much everything he said.
But like with U2, I could understand the attraction, I just didn't share it. And from what I've seen of these guys, which is not much at all, like 1 and a half videos, but from what I've seen so far they seem even more insipid than U2!
I was watching one of my beloved ISB videos and down in the comments section a guy had written something like 'Smug phucking hippies' and some other derogatory stuff. My first reaction when I read it was, as if his opinion really mattered to my enjoyment, to get p!ssed off. Then I realized the ridiculousness of that. Also, they do look pretty smug!

I too like Coldplay. They are an excellent group.
My favourite pop group is Take That. You might think I am mad but I do love them so. I love Robbie williams also. I have seen them in concert a few times and think they entertain well. I love all the new music they have as well and I am looking forward to a new album from them next year.
You have a good choice in music with Coldplay. My favourite songs are fix you and clocks.
I know a lot of people do not like Take that but I just love them. Thank you for telling me about the free video download. Cheers.

Go and download it now, hildas before it goes away. I love Take That's Back For Good. It's an old song now but I listen to it every now and then. Reminds me of high school days and I can even remember most of the lyrics.
I pretty much like most Coldplay songs. I know I may be biased but I could be critical of their songs too if I don't like them. But those on the top of my list are Yellow, Fix You, Kingdom Come, Clocks, argghhh... I can't finish the list, there's too many!
Thanks, hildas!

I grew up to the songs of The Carpenters, Scoop. My cousin who was like my second mom used to play their songs in her guitar and we'd sing along. I actually had their Best Of CD but my mom borrowed it and now doesn't know where it is. I love Rainy Days and Mondays.
And Mr. Pedant or Mr. Pedant X... wasn't quite sure if X was your signature there but you feel like the karaoke master or something, huh?

Coldplay is good but not my type of music. I prefer Beethoven or Bartok. Cheers!!

I'm just happy to know that you don't hate them, underdogtoo. You're more of the classical guy then, huh? Amadeus is one of my favorite movies to watch but that is Mozart's life. Cheers to you too!

I enjoy Coldplay's music. I haven't seen that music video, though.
I have a number of singers and bands that I enjoy; however, I don't really follow any of them. I don't buy tees and other merchandise. I don't make a point of watching them on television.

I checked out their video "Breakeven" on youtube. The lead's voice reminds me of someone, I just can't place it. Thanks for responding marym and enjoy The Script and being on cloud nine all the time.
