An Indelible Scar..

Last 2007, a few weeks before I turned 30, I went to a tattoo artist to have my navel pierced. I've looong contemplated "going under the knife" (or the pierce gun) just for experience and I felt that I'll be "too old" if I had the procedure done when I'm 30 or 30+. For too many times before the 'operation,' I would find myself passing by the artist's shop, browsing the pictures of the many celebrities who have subjected their skins for his "art." I mused, if he wasn't good, why would those celebrities choose him? Finally, the day came, two weeks before my 30th birthday. Whooppee! The procedure was done in just a few minutes and the amiable, expert artist assured me that as long as I took care of the little wound, sanitized it regularly, I'll do just fine. The healing process, he said, may take awhile. But I didn't mind. I felt so 'feisty' with my new pierce and I've been waiting to flaunt it for the next summer. However, something happened. Around July of the same year, after going to the ladies' room of our office, I felt something slide down my pants.. It was the ring.. I realized I wasn't able to screw it real tight when I sanitized it that morning. To make the long story short, I lost the navel ring. Good thing, my little wound was almost fully healed by that time. I endeavored to visit the shop to buy a replacement. However, my schedule was kinda 'tight' the following days and before I knew it, a week has passed.. Guess what happened? The little, tiny pierce closed up! I was already 30 when these all happened and I didn't feel like going to the artist anymore. Today, I'm already 31 and my recent realizations in life have taught me to take care of my body rather differently. Everytime I clean my navel I am reminded of the 'juvenile' courage I had when I had the procedure and tell myself, "Never again."But it was fun.:)

I have my navel pierced too. I never regret it at all as this is what I had always wanted since I was in my teen years. Just didn't find the courage to do it. I was so scared. It is painful when you just had it done then you will try to reach the ground or sit. When it's healed, it's not painful anymore.

So is it pretty noticeable that it's closed up now? I want to get some more piercings, but I'm debating if I'll want them forever because I don't want to end up with a lot of scars. I have a lot of scar tissue on my ears, but I think that's because they were leaking and stuff for 3 years when I thought they were infected but it was actually an allergy to metal. Now that I wear glass I have no problems so I want to get more piercings as long as I can let them close up later.

the scar is kinda cute, it's like a tiny dot on the top of my navel.. i was actually contemplating on having it tattooed but it looks kinda cool the way it is.. i would advice though, pigglies, not to get anymore piercings.. imagine if they'd leak like what happened to your ears, God forbid.. thanks for your response.. happy myLotting! :)
