what do you do with your and your family's important legal documents, such as, marriage license, birth certificate, land titles, investment certificates, etc. etc. ??? do you keep photocopies of them aside from the original copies? i find that there are times when we need copies of these documents to be submitted to different agencies for different purposes. do you photocopy them as needed or do you keep spare copies just in case you would need them immediately and you have difficulty going to the nearest copier? right now, i keep two copies of these important documents in my file cabinet. do you? take care all and God bless you!

I just take photocopies of my important documents when necessary. If a legal transection asks for it.

Yes, I also keep some photocopies of the important documents of my life. I think what would be a good idea is also to scan those documents and keep the files in a CD or something just in case. ;-D

My brother lives about 30 miles from me. I have a box with copies of all of his important papers at my house and he has copies of all my important papers at his house. We did this when he was complaining one day about how much he pays for a safe deposit box just to hold all of his important papers. Now if our house were to burn down, my brother has copies of all of the documents that we may need to start our life over again. It truly gives us piece of mind.
