How can I upgrade my standard Paypal account to a Business or Premier account? Is this even possible without having to make another account? What are the advantages and disadvantages of a Business or Premier account?

In addition you should know that transferring from a personal account to a premier one needs you to have a verified account and apart from that you should also know (and this took me a while to find out on my own) that there are no extra fees at switching from personal to premier.

Are you sure that a verified account is required? Yesterday, I upgraded my unverified personal account with no funds in it, to a Premier account. And yes, I know it is free. Is it possible to downgrade?

Well, if they let you upgrade to a premier account than you don't need to verify to keep it like that. I don't know if you can downgrade though.

Premier account allows you to sell on eBay or other auction websites. Business account allows you do use paypal on your website with direct link. You are charged if you receive payments with credit card/debit card. It's free to convert to premier account. I believe you have to have the account verified if you haven't already done so. Pablo

That is a very good comparison. Although I have already given a best response, this is worthy of one also! I have decided to keep using a standard account because I do not sell or buy online and only use Paypal for receiving money from GPT sites like myLot. Thanks for the great and very useful information and happy holidays!
