Promised investigations and checks and balances that never came....

Back in 2006, the House and Senate Democrats promised that if they were given control of Congress they would audit the revenues that went to Hurricane Katrina, the war and other programs where there is evidence of fraud and waste. More recently, with the "bailouts", Congress said that they will hold the CEOs and other corporate leaders accountable for the failures so that none of the money goes to Golden Parachutes or bonuses. Where are these audits and investigations? Once again, the Do Nothing Duo of Pelosi and Reid show why their approval rating is in the toilet. What's sad is, many Americans are going to the polls, voting for Democrats which may give the Do Nothing Duo a bigger majority to do nothing with. Lies and laziness is all the two have, they know nothing else.

THey made a lot of promises and never delivered on any of htem. Most they did not even try to get done. SO they can not blame that on the republicans or the president. The responsibility for that lays squarely in their laps. But you won't hear htem say that. It ticks me off to think of any of the memebers in congress being reelected no matter what side they are on. They have "do nothing" to deserve being re elected.

Actually, they didn't do squat precisely so they could shirk any responsibility. They are lazy louses who have committed theft every time they cashed their paychecks.

I completely agree. But they rode Obamas coat tail back into office. So I guess sense will not have any republicans to blame they will either actually have to start working or let the blame fall squarely on them. Personally there are some things I really do not want to pass so I am hoping either the republicans keep filibustering or that they stay being lazy louses. In their case sometimes doing something can be worse than doing nothing at all.

No, they will accept credit for anything that goes right (whether they did it or not), and they will continue to blame Bush for anything that goes wrong.

I believe their complete ineptitude was at least partially intentional. They knew the best way to ensure a democrat winning the 2008 election was by screwing up this country in the worst way possible so they could then blame it entirely on Bush. Of course there are democrats so ignorant to the incompetence of their own party that they blamed Bush 100% for the rise in gas prices yet gave the credit for the lowering of gas prices to the democrats in congress.

Exactly, the ignorance of many Americans to our system of government is their best ally.
