are you a call center agent?

I'm actually not a call center agent but I few friends who work on that field. They said they are compensated well but they're really stressed with their work especially that what they're dealing is the financial aspect. Some of them said that the pay they received is not really worth because you tend to be stagnant (just working with computers and phones), a shock absorber (clients complaint a lot and even say bad words to the agents) and social life is decreasing in percentage. ^^,

I'm a call center agent. Well, they put a more glamorous name to it... customer specialist. I took this job actually for a vacation, I used to work in a tv commercial film production house and life was stressful and I literally had no life because I work 24/7 even public holidays, sure the money is good, but I need my life.. That's why I'm here.. Yes, it is quite a stressful job, the money, actually it's not worth it, with what I am getting, I actually deal with employees of a fortune 500 company. I take calls and advise the employees what to do with certain things they want, provide them some policies as well, and sometimes the employees are really rude and arrogant.. And to add on the stress, the company has very high levels of security and expects the best of of the agents to treat their employees, and maintains strict protocols that all calls need to have. And if you fail the protocol you fail the call.. Which is quite understandable but sometimes employees are just too overly impatient and rude. To cut it short, no, the money is not worth it with the work that I do, I'm trying to get a equity raise as well, which i really do highly deserve, but it's been months, and I still have not heard any results yet. Which is quite sad, because I'm great at this job and there's plenty of other opportunities out there that pays more than this company. And I'm planning to leave this company to get better offers.
