DO you use a P2P client such as limewire, isohunt etc for downloads or do you purchase all of your programs movies etc? I was having another discussion with a friend on mine and we had breifly discussed which programs that we enjoyed using. Which ones do you use and why? Do you trust all of the tings you download? Have you thought about using ones and been afraid to for fear of viruses? And how do you feel about the copyright laws pertaining to downloads?

I really can't complain about the speeds most things I get with in 30 mins at most. I am not worries about getting it faster than that, since most of the time I download during the day when I am here for stuff for us to watch at night!

Thats cool, I like bittorrent myself. The way I see downloading movies music etc is this, I don't do it to make money off of it, just for my own personal use, it would be no different then me borrowing a movie or something from a friend of mine to watch etc.

I have used Limewire and Ares before. Both the software are satisfying because whatever that I need to download, I managed to find it. But the problem is I didn't get the file that I want alone, it came together with viruses, spyware and etc. It's very troublesome. Beside that, because my computer is not so powerful the P2P application makes it becomes slower as they consumed quite a lot of memory. Now I never used P2P software anymore.

I used to use Ares and I trusted it a lot. Never got any viruses or spyware. Limewire is infested with virus programs; Ares is smaller and, because of that, I never stumbled upon any unsafe downloads. Although, I am a careful internet user. I currently use Transmission to download torrent files as Ares doesn't work on Macs. To be honest, I rather download a movie than buy it and watch it once. I know it's cheap but meh, I grew up in the UAE where people knock on your door to sell fake DVD's every other week. xD

I don't see the point in buying a movie to watch it one time either. Now if it is a movie that I would watch a lot or if I really want bonus features that I can only get on the dvd then I will buy it. I don't like going to the movies cause the seats kill my back so I love being able to dl movies and get dvd rips when they first come out!
