Remembering the nineties is one remarkable moment for music. At least it catered to a lot of new and fresh musicians that helped shaped this generation. I consider myself as a part of that genre, it was the time of my adolescent years in music and subculture. There are bands that really influenced and inspired me during that time up to this day like for instance "The Lemonheads" - a band from boston that gives a superb definition of cool style and music. Others are "Gin Blossoms", "Rancid", "Green Day", "Spin Doctors", "Counting Crows", "Sponge" and a lot more. How about you? Can you name a band or some artists that you like during those times? Whether you came from that genre or just diggin some inspiration and studying some roots of the current artists that you like. Name one or a couple?

I agree, he led the revolution in changing the course of rock music. He's just destined to die to remain the fire burning. Better to burn out than to fade away.

I absolutely love counting crows, and they are still around and releasing new stuff. Going to see them next month =] Even though i was quite young in the 90s (born 1992) the music is very relevant to me currently. Love it =]

i guess the nineties had Pearl Jam written all over me. I really a huge fan to this band. The grunge and alternative takes over this decades. Quite a few band from this era are still in the scene.Nirvana and Soundgarden are also in my fav list.

I, too, love the Gin Blossoms. They were awesome. AFI was one of my favorites when they started in 1994 and still are today. Counting Crows I still like but I think they were better earlier on. "A Murder of One" is still my favorite song of theirs. Weezer. Actually, my friends and I have a group of heavily influential bands that are still making music that we call the Class of '94 because that's either when they put out their first album or their break out album. The Class of '94 includes AFI, Rancid, Weezer, Green Day, Soundgarden, Offspring...I can't think of the others right now. And of course Nirvana. It might be cliche but they shaped so much of today's music that it's impossible not to mention them.
