It's over at last!!! The "king" is dead! LONG LIVE THE NEW PRESIDENT!!!!!
We have begun a new era in US history! One of reconciliation, one of change, one that has the potential to restore our reputation and dignity throughout the world!!!
To everyone who has played a part in bringing this about, THANK YOU!!!
Who else is happy? I know I am as is my mother and my daughter. I also know that if we are led down another path of self-destruction like we've been down since 2000, I will be as unhappy then as I have been, so let's pray that cannot happen.
I believe this country has made the right choice and that he has quite a mess on his hands to deal with. I don't believe he'll be able to solve everything. But, if we can regain the respect we have lost, we will be well on our way to recovery!
So, are you? Are you happy??? Do you agree we have hope again? (I know some of you aren't happy, just so you know. But, without insults, can you explain what you think could go wrong with this result?)

I am so glad he said it just that way, too. So many times, braggadocio takes over and the winner spouts off about he will do this or he will do that when in fact he doesn't know if it's possible or if it will be supported by the facts. I think Obama is a realist combined with idealist. And, I think that's what's best for our country. Especially now.
Let the healing begin!!

I was more afraid of being locked up for having an opposing opinion than I am of either of those two things. My daughter is an adult and doesn't like abortion as birth control any more than I do, but she is still an adult and it is legal; so if anyone were to be considered a murderer, it would have to be her for making that her choice, if she were to ever do such a thing. The few proponents of euthanasia do not represent the entire liberal spectrum, so that's not an issue for me either. However, hope was long gone and has been restored, for me anyway. I'll take hope over hopeless every time. And, hopeless was how I was feeling over the last year or so.

I hope that it is a new start for the Americans and the rest of the world too. As an outsider of US politics I am glad that Obama won even though I don't agree with his stance on abortion. Hopefully there will be no more wars and peace will reign everywhere. © ronaldinu 2008
