why do men easily get away with marital infidelity than woman?

Dear mylotters,this question always bothered me,as i observed the situation since in my younger age when men despite of their status of being married have guts to have an affair to other woman , however they could easily get away from it when the situation gets worsen. The wife used to accept their fate of being cheated. The men just want to prove that they are polygamous in nature. Do you agree with this kind of life? During my college days i had a colleagues who embraced the muslim religion but she said though it is a practice or a part of their culture as muslim and yet she is against she doesnt allow her husband to be shared by anybody , coz once it happened she might put the law into her hands. What is your assessment to this discussion?
