Anyone ever buy refurbished products?

I was going to get a GPS system, and I saw a refurbished one that I want for $79. Does anyone have any bad experiences with refurbished products? It's a good way to save money, but is it worth it? These pruducts are usually items that people returned, usually due to something being wrong with the item. And then the company fixes it and re-sales it at a lower price. Should I go for the discount or get it at full price?

I don't see anything wrong with buying refurbished products. I can save you a lot of money. My laptop is refurbished and I've had it for almost a year. It still works great.

So you've had your laptop for almost a whole yr. I'll ask you how it's holding up 30yrs from now, and if it's still workin I'll definitely consider it.

Once i bought a refurbished cell phone... and after 2 weeks it wouldnt work. It wouldnt charge, i couldnt use it. I had to send it back so they could send me another one. But i think I was sent a new one the second time. SO i would suggest you go for the discounted price, just in case you cant return it so you wont regret it

I would not want to buy something like that not knowing weither it will really work or just breakdown once I try it out. I would much rather play it safe and get a new one.

I've never bought anything refurbished. there's only a small price difference between the brand new item and the refurbished stock, so I just choose the new ones. But it doesn't mean I don't look at refurbished goods! I actually buy second hand books, and that's the closest I have gone to buying refurbished items. Sorry, I can't help you make a decision. If you don't have the money, then just buy the refurbished one. But if money's not a problem then buy the new stock just so that it will have better quality.

I got a refurbished food processor for Christmas one year. It worked fine -no problems. I sold my refurbished Xbox 360- no problems so far lol. Hey that GPS is going to come in handy! :)
