Now it's my cat's turn. I woke up to find feathers everywhere!

A couple of months ago, I woke up to find that my dog (Maltese) had captured a chipmunk and killed it... in my bedroom!!! This morning, I woke up because my cat was bonking me with his head. When I opened my eyes, he just sat down, purring and looking VERY contented. I got up to go to the bathroom and saw feathers all over the hallway! No bird, just feathers. Okay, some of them were clumped together because there was still some skin attached, but there was no sign of bird guts, legs, head, bones, anything! Just feathers. My cat came out into the hallway and laid down beside all the feathers, looking up at me and purring so contentedly! LOL I'm just happy that I didn't have to see parts of bird everywhere! Has your cat or dog ever done something like this INSIDE your home? How did they act if they did? I'd love to hear your stories.

I don't have any pets. My grand mother had a cat that brought things like that in the house. You have to be careful with cats. They bring reptiles in the house too. Aren't you concerned where the rest of the bird is? You might be house cleaning later on and come across the leg bones or the rest of the body bones.

Hahahaha! Nope, I'm not concerned. I've found two headless squirrels last year and have yet to find their heads! The cat either ate them, the bird included, or took them outside to play with them some more.

I am soooooooo used to finding feathers, mice heads, chimpmunk parts and sometimes worse inside and outside of my house. I live out in the country, so there is plenty for my cats to hunt...and eat. Your cat was bringing you a gift, wanting to share it with you. You should be honored he wants to share, this means he trust you. Plus he wants to feed you (LOL). Just be happy it isn't a snake, got two so far from our male cats...

I had a blue merle rough collie who was a real hunter. She used to chase rats and even kill them. We did not know about this, since we homed her at six years of age. Once my wife was walking with this dog when she sets her loose. Immediately the dog darted like a bullet chasing a rat that she has seen in a field. It only stopped when she heard my wife screaming NOOOOOOOOOO. © ronaldinu 2008

Whoa, you have a bunch of blood-thirsty animals there. LoL. Hehe! Maybe your cat ate it? Well, not inside the house but outside or on our neighbor's yard, our dog used to chase around my cousin's chickens, their house is just right behind us. I remember one time when he ate a chick. Poor thing. We used to have a stray cat here too whom I took in, she was very good in catching mice and birds. It's so cool to see her run around. Although she isn't here anymore. She went away...

My cat Ebony, used to always birng birds in, his favorite place to eat them would be in my bathroom on the rug, just so I came step in it first thing in the morning. He would not leave much though, just the hair, which is good for me, less clean up. He does not do it anymore, because we started yelling at him whenever he would try to bring birds in when we were standing right there.

i don't have any pet at the moment... so i never experience what you experienced with your cat and dog... i used to have a dog in the past... but she is an indoor dog and we never let her out because she run to fast and we are afraid that we will lose her... but your story is very cute and at the same time make me scared... i wouldn't want to witness my cat or dog killing a chipmunk or other animals ever... i just can't stand the sight of it... take care and have a nice day...

There is no lovely cat here but a hateful mouse. Every night, he went out of the sewer, which was so disgusting. One day, in the morning, my roommate found that there was a "brand new" garbage heap and thought the ghost was haunted. We were very scared though we also guessed it was a mouse's "contribution". No one has any proof yet.

Our cat didn't quite do taht, and not indoors, but it's still kinda funny. My mom's cat, Max, was an indoor/outdoor cat. There was a cat door in the garage he could go in and out of and stuff. Well, this one day he stood at the front door meowing loudly until my mom opened it. Then he looked proudly up at her with a bird in his mouth and paws. He had not hurt it, just captured it. She managed to get it free and it flew away, but teh cat just seemed so proud of himself for catching it and showing it off to mommy, lol.

oh yea - all the time at my house. Not so much the dogs-although it appears they actually finally caught one of the squirrels that have been teasing them the last few weeks- I din't see me but he told me "your dog was eating a squirrel" -I said, "did you tell her to drop it? she would have.." NO - he just let her eat it. eeew. and I picked up a half of a mouse last week.. (but -it was on the dog's bed.. hmmm _ I am sure the cat brought it in.. My momma cat last week decided I wasn't feeding her enough protein and I caught her with a half eaten squirrel on the back porch... And fought with her a few days before that over bring a mouse in the house.. I kicked her out because she wouldn't drop it and I didn't want it in my house.. lol (and that has just been the lst 2 weeks...)

My first cat, when I was a teenager, was a hunter like that. If I was sleeping late, and my mother wasn't looking when she let the cat inside, the cat frequently had a recently killed, half eaten 'present' for me. She would run into my room and leave it where I would be sure to see it, and also she was very proud of herself. It was disgusting, but I always praised the cat, since she was 'honoring' me this way. I was very happy when I got my 1st apartment, since I had to keep the cat inside. After that, her hunting skills were used mostly on her own shadow...lol.

I have a couple of cats at home. Normally, I would find some rats without heads lying around. Sometimes rats with their stomach cut wide open. The funny thing is the cats dont really eat them after killing, I think they only playing with them. They treat them like moving toys - everytime it moves they attack. In the end... They also try catching birds too but the birds are faster than them.. But I liked to see the cats preparing to attack their prey..
